2010 SR5 Double Cab 2WD. I put a 3.5” Rough Country leveling kit with 3.5/2 but after putting it on I noticed the front only went up 2 inches though the back went up the right amount. The rake is the same as stock but the truck just sits higher. Not what I was hoping for. I purchased and have new Bilstein 5100’s for the front and I’ve been looking for stock front coil springs. I spoke to RC tech service and since my truck has 117k miles they suggested trying new coils but I don’t want any more RC products, I just wanted the UCAs and strut spacers for the front that came with the leveling kit. My question is: 1- with the spacers still in place and the UCA already installed, can I replace the struts with the 5100s and use the Old Man Emu springs (that give a 2 inch lift) and set the 5100s on the middle setting; OR, 2- take out the struct spacer (from the RC kit) and use the Old Man Emu coils with the 5100’s set to the max height. I’m thinking that option 2 might have better feel since I’d be eliminating the strut spacers, and I can regain the height by using lifted springs and highest setting on the 5100’s… Any ideas? I really just wanted stock springs with the 5100’s at the low setting and keeping the spacers in but I cannot find stock height springs without struts attached.

You paid for 3.5” of lift up front. How did the conversation with RC go when you spoke with them? They should have sent you product that provided 3.5” of lift. If not, replacement product or refund would be in order. Aside from that, you’re better off without some franken lift from RC with spacers and crap. You’re also better off not cobbling some crap together. Just get your money back from RC and get a setup that will provide your desired 3.5” of lift. Which is a lot by the way for these trucks. Since yours is 2wd at least you won’t have to worry about extreme CV angles.

Bad idea using spacers together with struts that were not designed to work with them. Your ride quality will definitely go to hell in a hand basket, not to mention wear and tear you'll put on your suspension components. Best of luck whatsoever you choose

That combo would most likely yield a nose result.
Most setups are 2-2.5 and 0-1,1.5 depending if level or rake is desired.

Thanks for the responses. The option of returning the RC kit is off the table. Too much work to remove everything that I installed (especially the UCAs). After doing additional research, I think I’m going to remove the strut spacers and replace the front struts with the Bilstein 5100s (my second option in the original post) with maxed out height using the third setting. If that still doesn’t work I might end up looking to use a smaller spacer in the rear to level it out… zI wish this were easier… it’s driving me nuts! LOL

It is easier, but requires more research up front before pulling the trigger and probably a lot more money. Rough country sells mostly cheaper budget lifts for people who just want the look, but not increased function. Results are all over the board, we hear about all the bad results here. A functional 3.5” lift / level for these trucks is likely $2k on the cheap side.
