What's up everyone? I'm DJ from Pittsburgh. I put money down on my 2022 Tundra Platinum April 29th, 2022. Now I'm waiting for a 2023 Tundra Platinum. I was told my build date was 12/16/22, but got a call the day after Christmas telling me they made a mistake, and there was someone who put their payment down before me that ordered the same truck, so I'm still in limbo and it's driving me crazy. Almost 10 months of waiting so far....

Anyway, I currently have a 2017 Silverado Redline Edition which I have liked, but have had issues with it, including the transmission problems Chevy's are so accustomed to.

That's it for now. I hope I'll be able to talk about my brand new Tundra with everyone soon!

Hmmm. sounds like bullshit to me. Think your dealer is yanking your chain.

    Welcome from NY.
Sounds like time to find another dealership.

BTW, what dealership did you buy the Chevy from?

Unfortunately I've just assumed it was the new normal. My wife bought a 22 Kia Telluride Nightfall edition and it took like 7 months to get. I will say however, that I was warned about using the dealership I used, but I did it anyway. My salesman doesn't seem to give a crap about me. I can't (and don't want to) cancel my order because I don't want to have to get back in line. I don't understand why Toyota has my order, but won't build it. It doesn't make any sense to me...

I bought my Chevy at North Star Chevrolet in Moon Twp here in Western PA.

Toyota does not have your order, cause they don't take orders. They build whatever they want. The dealership gets a number of allocations they can use to request the trucks. They cannot even specify which trucks they get. They have your wishlist in front of them and are waiting to magically get the exact truck you wanted. But it's a random waiting game, cause they aren't building your truck on purpose, you just have to get lucky. The more specific you are, the longer it may take. How much markup is your dealership charging over MSRP? Down here the 2 big dealerships in town have 10+ Tundras on the lot at MSRP ready for purchase.

Sounds like the dealership found someone else to buy your truck for more money

I think my total for the platinum trim w/ the hybrid motor is $72,500 with the hard tonneau cover, and power running boards.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I hope you get your truck soon. I understand the frustration of having to wait.

Got the phone call on Saturday. The guy that somehow weaseled his way in front of me backed out, supposedly because he was trying to haggle with the dealership. I'm picking up my truck today. Pretty excited about it!

Here she is. 86 miles now. First Toyota, and I really like it.
