Just add a aftermarket transmission cooler and be done with it.

Too little too late, but I always strongly warn people away from purchasing Samsung, LG appliances. They make fine televisions and phones, but sincerely, their appliances pale in comparison to quality components and longevity of comparable Maytag and Whirlpool alternatives.

Maybe I can't email from my dish washer, but it's still working after all these years. ‍♂️

That being said! I have seen this before when I had defrost thermostat on a friend's LG fridge die after a year

Thanks for the reply. This fridge was bought in 2015. It started feeling a little warmer on the fridge side over the weekend. Sunday the temp wash flashing. We unplugged it and cleaned everything out of it. It was 61 on the fridge side when I went to bed at midnight. At 6 am Monday it was back down to 37 and has been working since. Yesterday it was still working but had some condensation on some cold water bottles which disappeared after a little while. I checked the evap coils on the bottom, they were fairly clean. Condenser fan was working. Today I pulled the inside panels on the freezer and fridge side. It's a Twin cooling system...both fans were working. I put it back together and it was 53 degrees. An hour later it was back down to 34. I can't feel any air coming from the little slots inside, but I don't know if you are even supposed to feel it. The freezer side has had no issues at all. My buddy said that ice is from kids holding the door open and moisture freezing on the coils which caused the unit to freeze up.

That’s just the capillary tube that feeds Freon into the coil. Are you having icing issues? Defrost is necessary and limits are involved, maybe something got to hot.

Post #6 gives the issue that I had. Wife still thinks we should replace it and not take any chances with this one.

If it doesn’t stabilize temps, you probably have a refrigerant leak, and it’s time to replace. Put a load on it by putting a bunch of water bottles or something inside.

Frozen coils may be a sign of low Freon levels. Could have a leak. When mine was leaking it had a weird magic marker smell
Inside of it. We just replaced it.

Mmmmm good ol 134a. It smells even stranger when you hit it with a torch replacing the compressor. Phosgene gas anyone?

My guess is your defrost is not working properly. Either the heater or sensor, is common, I think. I had a similar issue with a ten year old Frigidaire. After farting around with it, I opted to replace it since there were decent sales going on and I was tired of the side-by-side unit. The other thing to check is to see if the damper between freezer/fridge is operational.

In my case, the freezer was holding temp, but ice build-up was blocking air to the fridge side. As it thawed, it would make temp, then freeze up again.
