Been through a bunch of the threads on here about this topic.

I’m currently doing this and it’s… taking more than 4 quarts (amount that was drained) Is this normal? Or should I just put in what I took out?

If there’s any doubt, slightly overfill and then go through the proper process for adjusting the fluid capacity. There are several recent threads on it

The Car Care Nut youtube channel has a good video on this procedure. Worth a watch!

When I did mine it was on a lift and level got out 4 1/4 qts. Bring fluid up to temp and to check it.

Do the check procedure, its not difficult and then you will know it is correct.
