I'm LarryL and I'm new here. My first Tundra was a 2016 4.6L with 2wd. I had the gas tank replaced with a 47-gallon tank from Transfer Flo. It was great. I now have a 2020 iForce engine with 4wd. I have the 26-gallon tank and I'm thinking of switching to a bigger tank.

In the discussions on the Forum everyone seems to be talking about the 38-gallon tank. It appears that its cost would be about the same as the Transfer-Flo. Why doesn't anyone mention the Transfer-Flo 48-gallon tank.

    Your thoughts?

The 38 gallon version was the other size that tundras came with. Factory fit, blah blah, blah.. you're 100% correct, the TF is about the same price and is larger and probably "stronger." The TF sits down lower a smidge than the OEM versions is one of the reasons the push for 38 gallon versions are seen more. Also, the added weight of the TF, tho not horrible, makes a difference to these hungry trucks...the last bit is one can usually find them at pick and pull yards or off ebay on occasion so perhaps "ease" of finding one...TF are great if you tow and highway commute...not as ideal if you offroad or play on gravel more then asphalt...

I thought all of the 2020's had the 38 gallon tank. What trim level do you have?

I was just about the post the same thing. OP are you sure you have a 26 gallon tank? The 38 gallon tank will only take 30 gallons at the reading of 0 miles left so if you're getting 20 gallons in at a quarter tank thats pretty average for the 38 gallon tank.
