de-badged my truck due to the fact that the platinum trim on the doors kept breaking. Poor design. I’ve also smoked all the windows out including the whole windshield, 5% on the panoramic so I keep it open all the time. I went 5% on the rear window as well. Put the K02 tires on it, buffed and ceramic coated, calipers painted black, and even changed the lug nuts to black. Put the toco tunes box in with 10” subs with 1100 watts running those. Put the bass knob for the subs in the perfect spot so my right hand is on it at all times. Bought the aftermarket Toyota logo on the front in black as well. I ordered this truck with every available option. Air ride, auto foot boards, bed cover and all the bells and whistles on the interior. The trim on the doors is a joke so I won’t be putting those back on until I decide to sell the truck. This is my 4th tundra platinum and by far my favorite.01FBFD6E-2B49-41C5-BD93-464AA434E8D0.jpg

You really needed to start another thread that's exactly the same?

    Lots of stuff!
I think the Midnight Black paint has blue metal flake and some other colors too.

The flares might just be gloss black or a few other colours when they come painted. Perhaps @Alex261 can chime in on the color of those flares.

It does have a very faint blue metal flake but it looks good.

Welcome to the club, now we just need to find a solution to blackout those headlights without dropping $2k

Have a link to the toco tunes box?

For others wanting to do the same, plastidip works great on the front logo as well.

I’ve had two midnight black metallic used to be called attitude black metallic. Yes it has blue flake and looks awesome in the sun. Bitch to keep clean and if you look at it the right way it will scratch. Ha, but it is beautiful clean. All the black trim on my silver platinum is just glossy jet black. No metallic

Curious what did you do to black out the chrome stache? I’ve got an in coming metallic black sr5 trd offroad and want to black out. Did you go vinyl or color match paint?

just to test it out I first used a two stage urethane black. The pieces still gave truck a two tine appearance so went with paintedoemparts.com and real happy with how they turned out as the clear coat like from the factory.
The grill was painted with a satin black.

** Have 28k miles on truck with o/a 20k of those with the changed out front. No issues.

thanks, I have a feeling that’s what I’m going to end up doing. Was hoping to find a vinyl wrap I could diy to save some cash. Wife would go nuts if I spend much more than I already have, and I’m planning on swapping for the TRD heritage grill right away, because I love the look.

How do you think it would look if I tried to find a vinyl wrap that matches the the satin finish of the grill instead of trying to match the truck color?

I actually did find a near perfect vinyl match. I had finished right side and just wasnt happy needing to do n multiple pieces so decided to go paint route. But the color match is real close to exact and would have know a film and even then hard to distinguish.
    VViViD+ Ultra Gloss Black.
