Twice now, this week.... casually driving along with traffic, I get beside a Dodge Ram and for no reason, he cuts in front of me.
The first time it happened, I let it go thinking nothing of it. Today, I unfortunately didn't get a chance to get beside him again.

Lesson learned, pay attention when beside another truck... I'm not giving any room in front of me to even give them the chance to THINK about it.

rant over... but I'm wondering if this is a thing with "other" trucks

I find it’s an issue with asshole drivers, regardless of vehicle. I just let them do what they’re going to do.

The ram is the Nissan Altima of the truck world. Magnets for people with a BAC higher than their credit score.

I have noticed that other 1/2 ton to 1 ton trucks from other brands seem to like to race/cut off/engage Tundras in my area. Whereas other “normal” cars not so much. I think it’s the same effect as like a Mustang/Challenger/Charger/etc all doing similar.

I always try to lead the pack if at possible and mostly reasonable. It prevents windshield rock chips! Especially when the vehicle up front has any decent ground clearance, either hang back or hurry up and get up ahead.

Best thing you can do is just ignore other drivers outside of being safe. Your life is too short to invest in the habits of fools.

Usually I take it as a good thing... That means my truck got their attention. :monocle:
I don't hate on other trucks either, if I like what you've done to your truck, you'll get a  from me.

TBH there is no rhyme or reason for the behavior. People are just weirdos behind the wheel.

    If someone in a truck is being an asshat there's usually a Chevy badge on it. I'd rank the full size trucks as (biggest douchebags to most laid back, unscientifically categorized in general) as;

    1. Chevy
    2. Ram
    3. GMC
    4. Ford
    5. Toyota
    6. Nissan (all 4 of them out there, lol)

The worst drivers I have ever seen have been in small Nissan cars with paper tags on them. The worst trucks though are definitely the RAMs.

I saw a guy in a RAM swerve in front of a car and brake check them three times because the car didn't see them when merging and almost hit them. Its a crazy world.

My slightly lifted red Tundra with Leer cap looks massive, no one cuts in front of it. Trucks and large SUVs sometimes cut in front of wife's white Sequoia. People often cut in front of my sleeper Volvo XC70 wagon when I drive it, and almost always do that when wife drives it. I think it is a primitive psychology about dangerous look.

Funny thing: when I put red and blue empty fuel and water cans on their sides in Volvo's roof basket, people still occasionally cut in front of it, but then immediately go back into their lane. Must be seeing a police cruiser in their rear view mirrors =)

Definitely one of the things I do like about living here. There's a distinct lack of people. Still too many, but they're more manageable.

Around here FCA drivers seem to be the ones who will tailgate you for 12 miles instead of just changing lanes and going around.

So I shouldn't tell you that my morning commute is less than 15 minutes and "heavy traffic" consists of 2 pickup trucks and a moose?

Probably somewhere around -67F plus windchill, so -75F or so. Give or take a bit. I had to put a sweater on.

My morning "commute" is walking from kitchen to the next door ;)

Yeah, I've been driving some finest Canadian roads where there's literally zero traffic on weekends...
