Not necessarily true. There are people that get into that by having their partner on the lease, and they have a separate income and file taxes separately. Dirtbags find ways to abuse the system. Kinda like the panhandlers that go put their sign and stuff in the trunk of their BMW and drive home to their million dollar houses everyday.

Oh, I'm quite aware of this and may even, ahem, know, somebody who works in the agency that provides those service.

Let's just say it's not worth $500 to me to go there.

Fair enough. I agree, $500 isn't worth a prolonged fight.

Sorry for the derail, @BillyB !

    Glad you're okay.

I have to wonder if a steel rear bumper would have helped?

I have a hefty front bumper and sliders. Unsure about the rear one ... but every time I see something like this, I have to wonder if a rear one would be a cheap insurance policy, and worth the extra weight taking from the small payload.

PS I'm also in AZ. The steel is for these types of things ... and very large animals.

Just depends. My famous IG booty saved me lots and I’m sure didn’t look good in the other car…..
I was at a vet appt and someone came from the business next door to tell me one of their clients hit my truck.
0D50AB1D-519F-4F71-8488-879388421BDE.jpg I’d say it was a win on my part…..

Actually, from my admittedly uneducated an non-professional knowledge, a solid steel bumper will help deflect small to medium hits, but some thing larger will still transfer the impact to the crumple zones/frame of the vehicle which hopefully, will crumple as designed. this helps avoid injury, but will still fuck up the vehicle.

My wife asked if I had put on a big bumper if it would have had less damage. I said probably, so now we'll probably be putting on big bumpers on her Jeep

Yeah, definitely. Major "Totaled" damage is all I'm concerned about, because I can't buy a brand new 2.5 Gen. I really don't want a 3rd Gen, that's the whole reason I bought this one.
