I am looking to replace my factory front bumper with aftermarket. I have it narrowed down to either the ARB Summit or the Heavy Fab aluminum. Wondering if both will work with my TRD Skid plate and will the TRD Pro Fox front suspension handle the extra weight up front! Post up some pics if you have either bumper!

Fwiw, might make sure you have brackets that don't only rely on the face/end of the frame mounting studs. I've heard that some heavy bumpers tend to crack and tear them over time. For example, my Ranchhand also uses the transport anchor loop mounting locations with extended bolts to carry and support the loads.

I think in the scheme off things the ARB is much heavier but is well built/designed with crumple zones etc. The Heavy fab is half the weight which is also an advantage. Both look like quality pieces!

    Good point.

The SOB bumper @STravis makes has a bracket that sandwiches the bumper against the end of the frame but also utilizes the two 17mm bolts that anchor the tow hooks to the frame. Solid support.

    Too many, but not enough....
Ironman is much lighter, cheaper and with crumple zones and crash tested also. Just throwing it out there. I love mine.

Same as Ranchhand, really fun to try and hold up the bumper brackets, front receiver hitch, and tow loops while trying to get a bolt started at the same time. Solid assembly after done though.

We were mostly "social distancing" at that time and I didn't want to get anyone hurt and need to get to the ER either. Was a great time to mod my truck while sitting around the house. Only problem is the list became freaking endless!:annoyed:

I wanted to do all sorts of stuff to the truck but was concerned about the job security. Didn't wanna go on a spending spree and then end up unemployed.

I had the BAMF (Pelfreybilt) aluminum front bumper on my 4Runner and it was 1/4" aluminum, almost as light as stock, I think next lightest was the 4x4Labs. no issues with supports or frame cracks even with a big ol 31M battery sitting on the frame. Previously had steel on an old tacoma, and had issues at the front support bolts wearing out and minor bending of those due to that. If it were me based on my experience, I'd opt for lighter and better clearance.
