Supercharge Tune

Thanks DD, I feel way more confident without potential for software problems. Successful first day.. SC and intercooler is in, lots of plumbing done, plugs, injectors, etc. Fuel pump and piping tomorrow!

 

What do you think might happen if I flash the BD tune before having Toyota flash the ecu?

Yes, let’s be clear. The tune that comes with the Magnuson SC is from Magnuson which is delivered via BD. For me, I had no issues with it. In fact, I’m having more issues with my OV tune on iteration 2 but since we are trading data logs I feel confident we will overcome.

 

That is interesting as I am completely opposite of that. I had nearly nothing but problems with the Magnuson/BD tune. From maf codes to going to limp mode when I would get on it to pass someone.. all issues. I now get an occasional maf code with ovtune. 2 times in the 3 months I have had it. Everything else has been perfect.

Magnussn maps are no longer able to be flashed via BD according to them

 

I heard from a local speed shop that Magnuson is working with HP Tuners to do their tunes now. Not sure if it’s true.

All wrapped up, successful install. Pretty easy to do, anyone planning on it should plan for 25-30 man hours. Have the dump zip tied open until the flash, tomorrow I get to open her up!

What pump did you end up going with?

 

It came with the TRD fit kit, I believe it is an OEM Toyota high flow pump

 

Well, I would highly recommend this if you can part with the cash. The punch is incredible! I keep getting the maf cel though with just the flash from the dealer, any ideas? Bd will clear it but it comes back after 10 min or so of drive time. Also, write error trying to tune with the BD. Had to upload files for them to send to "engineering". Hope they send something back, if they do it will be a bit more custom than the preloaded tune.

 

Can you please post results after Toyota TRD 93 Tuner ? I have the BD that came from Magnusson and frankly, I am not impressed at all.

I absolutely will. They seem to e taking their sweet time coming up with a fix for my write error. They did offer to clear the pairing for me if they are unable to and the return window closes lol.

 

What is needed to run the vehicle if the supercharger is taken off and the stock intake installed?

 

A multitude of hoses need to be replaced. Injectors and fuel pump back to stock. Also the computer needs to be reflashed to stock. I’m sure there’s a few more things like remove front heat exchanger and intercooler pump.

 

What year is your truck? What supercharger do you have?

 

I’d love to know what exhaust you recommend for the maggy I have in a dumped style

 

When supercharged, the exhaust makes much less of a difference. Just our ‘standard’ systems work really well.
