ESP Storage with Long Mat?

Has anyone ever installed the ESP storage and also had the full all weather mats? My mat goes all the way underneath the second-row seats.

 

People cut holes in the mat at same location of the storage containers

 

I have the three bin open storage and place the mats over the top of the storage. It doesn't sit 100% flush.
I've seen someone on these forums cut holes in the mat and lay the bins over the top.

 

Have not done my underseat storage yet, but I bought the mat and I am hoping it will basically be a lid of sorts to keep debris from getting into the storage. Not sure how it will play out yet though. Plans are to use buffet steam pans which will sit more flush than the ESP.

I was thinking the same thing just bought the full rear floor mat and then later saw the under seat storage and was disappointed I wouldn’t be able to do it. Don’t wanna deal with returning the floor mats lol
