I recently purchased resin front bumper end caps for a 2021 limited and in the process of switching over the fog light housing. The housing was originally on the chrome end caps without any gaps around the housing. However, when I installed the housings on the resin end caps, and I have about an 1/8 or slightly smaller gap running on the top and bottom of the housings.

I read over numerous post on here and didn’t have any luck nor did I have any luck searching YouTube.

I wanted to check if someone had completed this mod and had any suggestions on how to get a better finish, before I have to live with it.

Here’s a couple of pictures. Both the driver and passenger side are similar with the gaps. The hook on the housing is fully engaged into the bumper and has wiggle room back and forth.

That happened to my bezels when I installed my BD fog lights. Zip ties is the only fix from what I've tried to figure out. Pull em tight.

    Thanks for replying.

I zip tie them yesterday, and it took some of the bowing out. Buy, it was still noticeable. And, I tried sanding slightly where the inner end cap and tab for the housing meets, but it didn’t make any difference. I’ll try the zip ties again.

So I don't have the gaps on the top and bottom like you have, but I have had the movement in the bezels as some others have notated. I also went from chrome to painted end caps. What I did to help eliminate the bounce in the bezels/plastic was during install I used some JB quick weld and supported them from the back.

Sorry I can't help with the upper and lower gaps though. I personally didn't experience that when swapping to OEM end caps.

I stopped by a local body shop yesterday that does good work in the area, and the guy recommended using a heat gun around the tab areas on the housing and pushing them slightly outward until they cool back down. Since I had the end caps with me, he knocked them out in 10 minutes. And, it made a world of a difference. He was telling me that he regularly see Toyota’s and Honda’s plastic parts not being aligned properly, and he just got done fixing a twisted bumper on a Civic with the heat gun.

I know that's it's actually even a warranty replacement item on the TRD Pro trucks. I know one guy who went through like 3 of them before one of the sets locked in there right. Glad you got it fixed!

I had the same issue when I pulled the black plastic out to fit/zip tie the DD light @memario1214 sold me, when fitting it back it just didn't "fit"
I end up just zip-tying it solid and forgot about it.
Might take another look when I am installing light bar later (if that ever happens.....lol

EDIT: I think the black plastic piece is just not as thick/solid as we want it to be, therefore, the top/bottom bezel part would "curve" but not all would experience that.

Here’s a couple of pictures after the housings were heated and slightly stretched outward around the tab area.
