Eibach stage 1 lift gen 2

Anyone running eibach stage 1 lift?

 

I have it on my 2021. I have been pleased so far.

 

Trying to see what kit is better for this price range.

 

For the 5100's will i need to buy coils separate?

 

With a kit like this will I need to install a diff drop?

 

Such a killer kit, sold a bunch of these kits over the years on the forum here.
Best bang for the buck kit on the market in my opinion.

5100s are good, yes. Downside you'll have to disassemble stock units, re-use top mounts and bushing, or buy new ones, then assemble with stock springs, adjust by pre-loading the stock spring which will only decrease ride quality and offroad performance. The labor time associated with that can bump up quickly either for yourself or the shop you work with.

We offer the Eibach kit in house here as a pre-assembled unit to make it as user friendly as possible - simply unbolt the old, bolt in the new call it a day.

can I reliably fit 285/75r18 with this kit on stock trd off road wheels?

 

You can lift the front up to 2.5-3” with this on the highest clip setting. Per other threads, this will accommodate that tire size.

 

This is most likely the kit I will be going with once I have funds to upgrade my 2020’s suspension. Out of curiosity, how many hours on average should it take a shop to install?

 

On average should be around 6-7 hours with alignment on that kit to be installed.

 

My neighbor and I did the Stage 2 in my driveway in about 4-5 hours, with neither of us having worked on a Tundra before. Second time around would be about 3 hours.

 

I did mine by myself, in the driveway. I did not buy the pre assembled kit. I finished in about 9 hours, but I also replaced leaf springs.

With pre assembled I would think 4-5 hours, easy. 6ish with an alignment sounds right.

 

I have been running them for about a month on my 2015 and very satisfied. A lot of different routes to go and just making a decision is the hardest part of it all. No buyers remorse from me.

 

I got the stage 1 installed a few weeks ago. It replaced a coil spacer. Ride quality is much better, and I have no complaints.

 

@memario1214 - two questions for you:

1. I've got a 2020 with the TRD Off-Road package. Would the 5100's be an improvement over what comes w/the TRD Off-Road package?
2. Given most of my driving (90%) is on-road, with 10% on gravel and the occasional off-road venture, I'm assuming either this or the 5100's would be sufficient. Safe assumption? I also wouldn't have any issue throwing Toytecs at it either. LOL

Edited to add: Actually, given what was written above, about reusing the factory springs, I'm thinking it might make more sense to just purchase something like the Eibach 2.5" lift kit. All I want is 2-2.5" of lift for a slightly more aggressive stance (and clearance) and a bit more capability.

 

How is it when you do go off road at all (gravel roads/bumps/etc.)? It's not like my current setup is terrible; but by the same token, if I'm going to drop $2-3K or so on tires, a lift, possibly new rims, etc., I want to make sure it rides well on and off road.

 

The stage one and two will be similar ride quality. Stage two gives you a more robust assembly with the obvious threaded adjustability. I went stage two for those reasons alone.

Off road capability likely isn't 'much' better than any other standard 2" offering. Eibach has a lower spring rate which will make things a bit smoother/plus. But really, you get more performance from the tires, which all of these cheaper 2" kits make room for. 37s aired up on a rocky section vs aired down makes far more difference than the damping rates of Bilstein vs Eibach.

For your description, go with an Eibach kit assuming you don't want to haul ass down trail. I simply can't keep up with a buddy who has a hybrid Jeep Wrangler with 37s and adjustable 2.5" dampers which were revalved by Accutune. His vehicles soaks up hits at a level which a fixed 2" simply cannot.

 

I don't - e.g., I occasionally go off-road but it's usually purpose-driven, and not at all hauling ass off-road when I do. 95% or so of my driving is on pavement with a moderate amount of (crappy) gravel roads.

All I really want is a bit of a lift, a bit more capability/smoother ride, which it sounds like the basic kit will do. I appreciate your input. . And yeah, you'e right on the tires - I had Michelin LTX AT/2's, and replaced them with Yokohama Geolandars. I was shocked (and not really in a good way) how much it changed the driving dynamics of my truck.

 

I did mine myself at work with alignment. Took about 4-5 hours. Ride quality so far is really good! I did the 3in. I’m gonna have to redo the alignment. Noticed the front wheels have more of a positive camber.

Excellent. I definitely understand that I'll feel increased firmness - actually that's part of what I want. On-road, while the TRD Off-Road shocks are a huge improvement over the OEM offering on my previous '13 F150 (those shocks *SUCKED*), I can still feel what I'd call the 'jittering' when I hit small bumps in the road. I'd rather just get the bumps over with via a firmer suspension. LOL

I did end up purchasing the Toytec/Eibach 2.5" lift kit. Granted almost nothing is going to smooth out 50MPH washboards (which, uh, I've never asked my truck to do *cough cough* ) but in the end all I really *need* is a bit smoother ride, 2.5" of lift, and slightly increased capability as opposed to what comes with the stock TRD Off-Road package, all of which it sounds like the Toytec/Eibach will do. I appreciate the input and assistance.

 

Just to close out the thread and make sure this doesn't confuse future readers, I was referencing damper body sizes. I wasn't explicit and it could be misread as 2" lift.

 

I have the pro truck set at 2” front and rear. Am I safe to avoid the diff drop or is it recommended. I see above 2” it’s recommended
