17 tundra aftermarket auto start

I had an auto start ínstalled in my truck but it will not work consistently. My tech was trying to get it to start but it still wouldn’t work. The manufacturer said it’s my truck. Thought it could be battery so we changed battery but it still won’t work. My alt and starter tested great and were good still. Has anyone had issues with auto starts aftermarket install?

What brand is it? Does it have a antenna hooked up to it? Maybe the connections aren't sitting properly.

 

It’s Drone. It’s cellular. The antena is opposite of my other antena. We did trouble shooting with the tech support and they said there was something causing the truck to not start.

 

It’s not hard wired in at this moment because he said with all the new systems it didn’t need to be but he said he’s going to have to hard wire it and if the hard wire doesn’t work I won’t be able to have auto start on my baby.

 

My tech said that he hasn’t had issues with this brand and any other brand he has put in other tundras had issues but this one he hasn’t.

Who makes the remote start module?
Did they not give you a key fob to operate the remote start?

I have a Compustar remote start/alarm on my 2014 I've never had issues with it.
It also uses the Drone mobile app, but I use the key fob a lot more than I do the app.
I use the app more to see if I locked the truck or not or to get triggered alarm notifications.
It uses a different key fob remote than the OEM key fob.

I think they did something wrong with your installation.
Mine has worked for 7 years, and we basically have the same truck..

Is the cell service good in your area?
Maybe reprogram the drone app with the remote start module.
There is a troubleshooting section on the drone app, look into that as well.
