Am I the only fool that assumed TRD Off Road meant it has to be a 4x4.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! The only thing that the TRD Off Road package might improve with a 2WD truck is the ride, if you like the feel of the different shocks. Other than that I believe it's a marketing gimmick.

    Essentially a pinstripe performance package.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
You would think that's a safe assumption... I just went to the website and sure enough, it lets me build a Tacoma and Tundra that are 2wd with an OR package. Not cool.

Lol, I assumed TRD off-road is always 4x4 but I guess not after reading this thread. Nothing surprises me anymore in our clown world we live in today.

If you're shopping, just run the vin right through Toyota's website, that'll tell you all the features on the Tundra you're looking at.

Yeah, pretty pissed our 2015 Tacoma with a Prerunner badge isn't a full-blown Baja Prerunner truck.

Check the build link in my signature.
I only learned it when I rented a Tacoma TRD Off-Road and discovered it was only 2WD
