The higher the fuel pressure the higher the amp draw will be. 14.1 amps is only at 40psi. The base pressure for tundras is 43.5, if boost referenced it may exceed 50. Prospeed wants the regulator at 60psi I believe? It’s easily drawing over 15 amps.

Second question, and may be dumb, but if nothing else is drawing from that line, can you just drop in a larger fuse?

No, I wouldn't trust the stock wiring to handle 15 amps continuous, let alone any higher.

I guess this is the info I was looking for. Tomorrow morning we're going to drive it around and watch the gauge. PS hasn't said anything about running a dedicated circuit for this setup.

Truck revs fine, truck goes through the rpm range fine at ~half throttle. Under WOT conditions it's hitting a brick wall/breaking up at exactly 3k rpm.

I guess it all depends what gauge wire the stock wiring is, and from that you can look at some charts for the gauge and type of wire at a given voltage and determine the amp rating of the wire. If you used a voltage booster you could increase the voltage and thereby reduce the amp draw, but it’s probably cheaper to just run heavier gauge wire like @armyoffoo

Third question, if you're overdrawing, wouldn't the fuse blow instead if the pump stop working for a moment??

Yes, it should pop the fuse if that happens...but I suspect it's being limited by the voltage regulator to prevent that from happening. This isn't proven, just a thought, but it adjusts voltage to the pump based on engine load. I'm not sure if this is configurable in the tune...at least I never saw it.

I was wondering if that fuel pump module could be part of the problem with the increased amp draw? My fuel pump fuse is 25 amp anyways though so the fuse shouldn’t be the issue.

What are your plugs gapped at? I had issues issues with blowout when I moved to the 75mm. It feels similar to a fuel cut when you WOT. I had to gap them down to .021

Too many unknowns. Between that and the back-and-forth with PS on my system, I just bypassed the whole thing. Dedicated wiring was the easy part really, but getting it into the basket took a bit of work. I used a bulkhead fitting from Summit I believe, had to cut away plastic ribbing on the basket top to install the fitting flush with the top.

You can see my hack job here:

Oem gap, they haven't been pulled. You're running the 450 fuel pump as well aren't you? Did you increase the circuit rating?

Don’t think it’s configurable in the tune. Fuel pump control unit maxes out at 90% duty cycle, and iirc that is 9.0v - 14.0v output, so agree with your suspicion.

I am but no I didn’t mess with the circuit at all. I previously had the pump that came with the harrop kit so idk if when I had the shop install that originally if they messed with the circuit rating. But if your plugs are gapped at .043 then that’s probably not enough because the IKH 24 come at .029 and that’s not enough for the 75mm. @Silver17 posted something that DAP put out that said he gaps at .020-.022 for 12psi and so I went to .021 and it fixed it

You should adjust the gap, it might not be able to jump under boost if it's too large, I have mine at .022.

Thank you for the info. Not sure what psi I'll be at with the PS intake as we haven't been able to get into boost really. 12psi also?

Well.. I'm glad we didn't do any damage! The really fast cut out and back in totally makes sense to be a spark plug issue

An alternative if you want to play around are the plugs I've used, the Ruthenium HX forced induction specific plugs. A lot of us, including myself, on the Tacomaworld s/c thread run them. Not sure if anyone else here is. But I will be

But I think my bigger question would be, aren't the IKH plugs included in the supercharger fit kit? At least with the Magnusun they are

    More details on my setup:

Two Walbro 450's using plug w/pigtail from installation kit, wiring from pigtail going through bulkhead fittings terminating in deutsch plugs. From there it's 10 Gauge TXL wiring to another deutsch plug in the engine bay, primary pump positive goes to a fused relay that activates with key-on via the same fuse tap as the intercooler pump, secondary pump positive goes to a fused relay that activates when a pressure switch sees 3 PSI of boost, both negatives and relay negatives terminate at inner fender.

    Pump with installation kit:

    Pressure switch:

Stock fuel basket modified with dedicated -6AN to 3/8" hose barb for pumps and -6AN to 5/16" hose barb for return as well as two bulkhead fittings for wiring. I added heatshrink to the bulkhead fittings and potted with Toyota sealant to be sure no fuel got by. Probably overkill, but that's the way I do.
