Anybody else having SHTF today? Two days in a row, and I've randomly been awake at 1 or 2 in the morning both days. Really regretting giving up coffee.

 

Not yet, just woke up. It's my Friday though!

Believe me, it is a struggle. Almost broke down and bought a Monster Java about 20 minutes ago. I resisted, but it was a challenge.

There are no words to describe my day today. It was nine hours of nonstop lunacy at work. Saying “You just can’t make this shit up” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Someone gave the pixy dust fairy a sheet of acid, a fifth of JD and instructions to go share the joy…

And then I got to drive home behind every asshat on the planet. And then the hag at the local dump station got all pissy cuz I wasn’t putting the corrugated cardboard in the corrugated cardboard bin. Never mind there are no signs and the bin I was using was almost overflowing with…you guessed it…corrugated cardboard!

One of those times you wished there wasn't a twin right?! It was such a lunatic day I'm actually in a good mood. When shit is too crazy to measure you just let go of the hand rails and hope you don't die.

 

Ah, if I had sleep I might be there. As it is, I was stressed and super tight in the neck and back. Now I'm home and the tension release just let's the exhaustion sink in.

I have had stuff stress me to laughter before, but it's not happy laughter. I got out of that job.

 

So onto other things. Last week my son came home and said he needed a laptop. He's doing Running Start (college classes for high school kids) and his high school laptop (a super cheap, slow POS) is locked down so kids cannot watch porn or download apps...but his college engineering class has to use a specific app. Dilemma. Long story short, I got a new laptop and he got the old one.

During the data transfer, I realized it was time to edit down the 22+ years of digital photos the wife and I have "archived". Holy shit...300gb of pics. I've learned a few things... First, with our digital life take all the pictures you want but save only the best pics. We don't need twenty pictures of me holding my son after he was born. We need the best 1-2 pics. The rest are garbage. Speaking of garbage, that brings us to the second thing I've learned. Digital cameras 20 years ago were garbage. The best picture taken at 640 resolution sucks on even the most basic monitor today. Yet another reason to only keep the best...cuz I'm deleting a lot of old pictures simply because the resolution sucks.
