I'm getting grief from some of my friends for going with a skinny tire versus going with a 275, 285 or 295. I will tow less than 5000lbs. about 6 times a year including a trip to Watkins Glen, NY from Indiana once a year. The other 5 times are an 1.5 hour drive from home.

Otherwise the truck will be used primarily on the road for light hauling and be our snow monster when my wife's Honda Pilot with Defender LTXs might not be enough to get through our weird winter weather here in Indy. Did I make a good choice or should I have gone bigger?

I did swap out my 42lb. factory 20" alloys for a set of 18" TRD Pro wheels at 27-28lbs. a piece. I'd love to hear what you all think. I care about MPG when towing and skinny cuts through snow a bit better but we don't get enough snow & ice to convince me to do a dedicated winter tire. Brew

My SR 2017 came with that size and I put the same size blizzaks on it too. It really never bothered me that much. Later I got a set of 275/65r18 off offerup with rims and switched to them for summer (and skinny for winter). Visually you couldn’t really tell from the size difference. Mpgs will definitely be the best in that size with lightweight wheels. The load rating of the P non LT tires is higher than the gvwr anyways too.
