New to the forum (and to Tundras). I traded my GMC Sierra Denali in on my Tundra. It had a Retrax cover on it which I loved. Wanting to do the same thing with the Tundra. My tundra has the bed rail system. Here’s my question (sorry if it’s in another thread, I’ve searched), I’ve found a REALLY good price on a retractable (not Retrax) but it is for beds without the rail system. Can I just remove the rail system and the cover will work or is the interior of the bed different?

Normally it just depends on how it mounts to your bed. If its made for a bed without a rail system, it will mount directly to the bed sides (there are factory locations to thread in to). If you have rails on your truck, just take out the fasteners holding them on and remove them. The new cover should mount up to those holes.

My experience with non rail mounted was with a tri fold undercover. The damn side rails of it fell off constantly no matter how tight you screwed the clamps. I hated it. Now maybe the one your looking at sits on top and doesnt JUST clamp to the side
