    2020 SR5 with upgrade.

Factory stereo. iPhone SE (2nd gen from 2020). Carplay randomly stopped working. No new iPhone updates. Phone will still charge and connect via bluetooth but carplay does not. I've tried restarting the phone, tried disconnecting cord. Still nothing.

Only thing I haven't tried is to try my wife's phone (iPhone 12) to see if I can get hers to connect.

    Any ideas?

Cabled. Everything is stock. After I get home from work, I'm going to try an Apple cord too since I'm using an off brand cord.

That is what I was going to suggest is to replace the cable if you weren't using an aftermarket wireless module.

    I would third that suggestion.

Once a year we blow a cable when it randomly touches a melted snow puddle on the floor mat.

Does it still charge though? I have an apple cord sitting at my desk right now. Going to try it shortly.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Right now I have a cord in my wife's Honda that will charge but it won't recognize the device at all.

It's also good to blow out the charge port on the phone. Pocket lint can sometimes create strange behavior.

What Honda? My wife has a 2016 Accord EX-L and if she uses an aftermarket cord, the carplay will freeze if you use both music and GPS. Apple cords work better but it'll still freeze up.

Ok so I went to unplug my old cable and noticed it was in one of the 2.1amp slots. Plugged the Apple cord into the slot on the far left (no amp label) and Apple play worked. Tried the old cable in the far left slot and it worked now too. Has me thinking the 2.1amp slots won’t work with CarPlay? Not sure what started it to first cause the issue as I never moved the cord. At least it’s all working now with either cord.

Cool. Sometimes cables go bad without any visible external damage. Cheapest thing to eliminate from the trouble shooting equation.

Yeah it’s always easier to trouble shoot the simplest and cheapest option first. Plus I learned that the 2.1amp can’t run car play. Now I have two working cords in the truck lol

    Thanks guys!
