    Hi folks,

I just wanted to see if anyone's aware of aftermarket towing mirrors for these trucks that has the correct "objects are closer than they appear" convex main mirror on the passenger side? I've seen a ton of threads on this where the question was asked and was misconstrued as the main mirror being ultra wide angle as the lower mirror. On any factory setup, the passenger mirror has a slight convex shape to it for wider angle. For anyone familiar with photography this is basic field of view - the further you are from the aperture, the less you're going to see. So on a wide vehicle like this, it's especially important.

I bought a set of KSource from etrailer and I was amazed that no one's even talking about this, as I found them unusable/unsafe, as there was no more than half a car length worth of neighboring lane I could ever adjust to see. I returned these at a large shipping loss.

In a thread here, some replied that that's how these all are. But I know that for factory mirrors this is not true. I've borrowed an F150 and 350 from friends with towing mirrors and they're delightful, with larger than normal convex primary mirrors so you see more, not less, and the helper ultra-convex lower.

I'm seeing a lot of other options out there. I tried messaging BoostAutoParts about theirs, if their mirrors have the correct convex passenger main mirror for the objects are closer than they appear effect, they replied they have the correct flat mirrors for that effect, which is both false and contradictory.

So landing this plane to my question - does anyone know of an aftermarket towing mirror setup for these that has properly designed passenger mirrors or am I cursed to live with strap-ons?

This was my installation of the KSource btw, I have no idea how people drive with these. I stopped next to a parked car where it would be safe to merge. You can sort of see out of the lower mirror but it's so distorted that it's really bad for judging depth.

To be honest, I've never noticed that. I alternate between my stock mirrors and my Boost Auto mirrors without an issue. If the convex shape is important to you, maybe check the Toyota optional towing mirrors? I know they don't have the best reviews on here, but I would suspect the right one is convex. You may be able to find an OEM set at a reasonable price on ebay or a junk yard.
