Just getting started

I'm looking to install an E-lock to my existing Z cap. I recently bought the OEM tail gate lock and the install was easy. It was plug and play from the right side front. There are two wires going to the actuator in the tail gate. I was wondering if I could tap those two wires under the back bumper and run them to the cap lock which is also two wires, or if anyone has already done this install? Thanks in advance!

I tapped into the OEM tailgate harness wires and no problems, all good.
