I’ve always thought that but didn’t want to insult anyone , but since you did, I agree , ha!

i don’t understand buying a pro and then sticking a spacer in there.

Others have chimed in, but I suspect the TRD kit when properly installed will be superior to many aftermarket lifts. At least in the near term because TRD has a big head start on developing the kit for the truck while the truck was still in the test mule stages of development.

Nice...since I bought via Costco, the offer toget 15% off all parts too. They also gave 1, 50% on parts up to $200. So I think I'm gonna order this kit!

For $300? I installed my own cornfed 2/1 preload lift. Also put put on load
E Tires at same time. Harsher? Sure probably. Still a half ton truck ride? Yep. Get what you pay for. I’m fine with it for the price.

I wrapped the TRD Lift into my purchase. I just got it back the other day and absolutely love it. I get new tires put on this week so I'll hold out evaluation until I have less anemic feet under me. That aside, maintaining warranty and keeping the vehicle safety systems intact (cameras, adaptive cruise, etc) was of paramount importance. I'd never have lifted the truck if this OEM kit wasn't available. That's my two cents from a first time truck owner.

congrats and looking forward to seeing some pictures when you get the new tires. What tires are you going with?

wrapping it into the initial purchase is probably the best way to do it…what did they charge for the add-on? Curious about total $ because I assume there was the parts + labor….want to compare to what I paid - ha. Did they let you keep the original parts?

I have experienced a similar feeling after Westcott install. The Westcott pieces are built and fit well that said, IMHO the 3Gen (with black Hitachi socks at least) likely will not respond well with spacer type lifts.

I got Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 275/65/20s that are going on the TRD rims. Next year I'll grab a new pair of rims and wrap them in winter tires. I paid $4100 for the lift kit with install, which I'm very pleased with. They didn't delete the fog lights, I kept my skid plate and all my original parts. I'm thankful for this forum and those that went before me, providing their anecdotes and then wisdom from their experience. It made my experience that much more smooth.

That's one of the reasons I had a no box checked against getting a pro. That and the rediculous 5-15k avg markup in my area just because its a pro. If you are planning to lift it 2 to 3 inches or more, that pro suspension you paid for is a waste of money. I have heard one could get away with a small spacer, not sure the thickness, and still be hitting the bump stop and maybe get another inch out of the factory setup not a bad option. Imho the pro should have came with longer factory fox extended shocks and 3 inches more of ride height. Its competing against the raptor and zr2, so might as well give it a factory comparable stance.

This is the only option for now though, for TRD Pro owners, right?

No, the other option is to leave your TRD Pro alone and drive it rather than dick up the suspension function like a moron just to achieve a cosmetic result.

    So I am told.

One of these days I hope to be the public outreach director for a large organization. Should go pretty well.
