I got a brand new Diamondback SE for my 2017 CM less then a month ago and I like the cover a lot but i can’t get it to stop leaking water no matter what I’ve tried.

I used the supplied shims, siliconed under the bedrail caps, had my wife lean on the panels while I tightened them, used a torque wrench to 5.5 ft lbs on the clamps, Diamondback sent me new weatherstrip for the center section to make it a little longer then it came with and I changed that out as well all to no avail.

The only reason I spent the $2000 on this cover was because I needed something water tight and secure cause of the equipment I have to haul, and at this point I’m ready to send it back and try something else. Am I missing something? Has anyone else has this problem that they were able to fix? Thanks

I am having this issue as well since i just moved to WA where it rains most of the year and noticed leaking from the center portion on both sides of the bed, I havent been able to fix it yet been busy with work but interested to see if someone had a fix. I will try and loosen the clamps a little and adjust nuts for more downward pressure

    Too many, but not enough....
where exactly is it leaking from? Under the rail caps? Between the weatherstripping? Bulkhead? Tailgate? Are we talking a few trickles of water or is it pooling up? is it a light rain or is it like a monsoon downpour?

Just an update, Diamondback is sending me a replacement cover which I think will come next week. I will report back if it’s better when I get it installed.

My cover leaks from the center section where the panels meet. It leaks in the center then the water runs over top of the bedrails and drips down onto the factory track system rails and when I’m driving it will splash and pool water at all 4 corners of the bed and also drip onto the wheel wells based on movement of the truck. When parked in the driveway the water drips in onto the wheel wells only for the most part. If you ever have to open the cover in the rain to get something out and close it back up, all the water that drips into the rain gutters will find its way inside the bed also which is a lot of water.

It looks like my cab and tailgate panel weatherstrip is too far short of the center section. If you look in the instructions on replacing the weatherstrip, there is a warning that the weatherstrip must buy against the metal of the rain gutters or the cover will leak. Mine was made with that weatherstrip falling short of touching the rain gutters on all 4 sides of the center panel.

Sounds like Diamondback is trying to take care of you. Get a few 40 lb., or better, bags of bird seed and place on the front and back panels (spaced evenly across the panel) before adjusting the panel locks. Then you also have something afterwards for the birds. I know you said that you got your wife to lean on the panels as you adjusted them, but consistent pressure applied downward worked for me. Make sure the center panel is tightened sufficiently. My instructions with my SE did not list a torque setting. It only said to tighten them down and to recheck them after a few hundred miles by checking the tightness.

My DB SE has been on my truck for a few years and it doesn’t leak.

I have found, however, that it can accumulate a sweat-like moisture inside when the conditions are just so, and it will drip here or there.

Hopefully the new one doesn’t leak.

I've had my cover for several years now, never used the weather stripping and when it rains i get a small leak from one of the front corners but its nothing major and can live with it. Anything more than that would seem unusual. Should't leak at all from the middle. Biggest annoyance to me however is that the lock/handle can freeze making it difficult to open.
