Goal: Drive this truck for 8 more years
Issues: Rusty (stage 2-3), just wrecked (see pic), need tires in next 5k miles, suspension tired and rusty
Wishes: Body rust mitigated, front end refreshed, rear sag gone, ability to run 35x12.5’s on potentially 17” wheels 18’s fine.
Off-roading: Beach and west Texas. Washboards, whoops, clearance important
Other: I don’t want to live with crawling in and out of a bubba truck
Towing: only my skiff for evacuations or maintenance…not a concern
    Budget: $5k-$7.5k

Howdy all. I need help. I’m currently in an analysis paralysis on which way to go with my 2015 Pro. I’ve owned her since new with only 107k miles currently. I’ve not run her as hard as my past trucks down Padre, but she does have stage 2-3 cancer and the suspension is tired all around. I need tires/wheels. I had already planned to have the body rust around third brake light, and from the topper fixed/painted when I got smacked the other day coming home from work. This may give me a bit more budget on suspension depending on the body shop’s willingness to “add” some extra in.

These are my current thoughts which is where I’m getting stuck and have found no one local to discuss options.

Front: Replace LCA with factory, UCA with aftermarket, Sway bar with TRD, Coil overs that would accommodate more lift for the 35’s but not get me into bubba land plus maintain or improve factory pro ride.

Rear: Deaver or other replacement leafs to give more capacity and fix the sag, complimentary shocks to the front.

Crazy other ideas that are cool but probably wont happen: Replacement Front bumper, Sliders that can be steps, and replacement rear bumper.

I certainly appreciate feedback on this issue. Even a good shop to call and discuss would be great. Thank you.

How bad it is underneath would determine whether or not I decide to dump money into tires and suspension.

Agree. I’ve made that decision already. This truck is still solid.

If you dig the OEM Pro setup, I’d probably stick with it. You could fit 285/75R18s on your truck no problem with the 2” lift up front the OEM Pro suspension provides. These are 35s in a 285mm width. They weigh less, and fit on OEM offset wheels without cutting up your fenders. Then you wouldn't need to replace UCAs or LCAs.

Why do you want to replace LCAs anyway?

Regarding corrosion, I’m freaked out about the chance of any kind of rust underneath and coat my underside in Heavy Duty Metal Protector from Amsoil.

I was thinking LCAs for new ball joints and as optional. Alloy UCAs and LCAs would be very cool but prolly not happening.
