One Month impressions after 750 Miles. Tundra Limited TRD OR-CM-6.5 bed

    • Transmission is great. Enough said.
    • Engine: The TTV6 has plenty of get up and go. More than enough for my use. If I need speed, my Roush RS3 gives me all that I can handle.
    • MPG: I live three miles from my work. Pretty cold in Pennsylvania since picking up truck. MPG until last week settled at 14.5 MPG and now increasing. Currently at 15.6 mixed driving mostly around town. Couple of short Freeway runs and MPG indicated just over 18MPG.
    • Oil has not moved on dipstick
    • Ride is nice. Still a Pick-up, but much improved compared to older Gen Tundra’s. It is not too sensitive to high winds-much improved over the 4Runner.
    • Steering. Accurate and centered. Slow compared to the 4Runner and wife’s Rav4. Compared to the Roush-it's like driving a boat.
    • Do have wind noise on Driver door – will go back to dealer on this. Interior cabin other than wind noise is very quiet.
    • Panoramic Roof. Not issues and its great.
    • Interior fit is pretty good. No issues
    • Seat comfort is fine for me.
    • Minor issues with Blue Tooth sync and Car Play. Cold mornings single digits kicked out several times. Very annoying having the warning screen popping up until reset. Hopefully solved with system updates.
    • No issues with JBL System.
    • Have Toyota Tonneau cover. Looking mechanism not set correctly. Adjusted it myself in lieu of dealer visit.
    • Body Fit and finish appears good. No issues based on a couple of brief walk-arounds.
    • Played in the snow with it. 4HI and shifting in and out are quick without issues. 4L jury’s out. My first impression is I prefer my 4Runner TRD Pro Transmission set-up. 20MPH at just over 2000 RPM in 4th gear. The Tundra in comparison was over 3000RPM and I believe 4-5th gear.
    • It’s long………………………took a few days learning the camera’s that help in tight spaces.
    • Spray In bed Liner: No Issues
    Planned improvements
    • TRD Skid Plate-Waiting on weather warm up
    • Taco Tune CAT protection Plate
    • TRD Aluminum Step-Installed last weekend.
    • Bora 1” spacers. Not planning to put larger wheels on it.
    • Considering raising Front up ¾ in. Not convinced yet on this.
    • At some point will black-out chrome as it will show well with Celestial Silver.
    • Considering a Borla Cat Back single. Have run on several other cars without issue.

I agree with everything you said. My trucks only issues are cosmetic exterior. And there’s about half a dozen issues. But the dealers will work that out.

Thanks. Have owned many Toyota's. All vehicles have there issues. That said, so far very happy with it.

I have a 2022 tundra 1794 2wd in silver with the brown interior.

    Likes:
    1. Powertrain is great. transmission and engine are perfect together.
    2. Interior is nice enough
    3. Jbl system sounds good
    4. Very quiet (minor wind noise from doors)
    5. Power step to get into bed
    Dislikes:
    1. looks. It needs the sequoia grill, bigger tires and cooler wheels
    2. Electronics suck. Lta wanders a lot, the shifter somehow stopped communicating with the truck so I couldn’t turn it off. Dealer had the truck for a week to troubleshoot, srs airbag warning is popping up, check engine light flashed, the truck panic stops itself when I’m backing up a trailer, the truck will not let me pull into traffic if it thinks the other cars are to close. I lost power twice while trying to turn left into a road with traffic coming in both directions. The computer thinks it can drive better than me….
    3. Nothing innovative about the truck. No cool tricks. No power tailgate, no neat storage solutions, no ground breaking design ideas. My wife’s Toyota Sienna has built-in outlets that can run a shop-vac….this $60k truck does not.

Good to read something positive. I was offered a refund yesterday for mine that remains in the shop. I really want to love this truck and hope my issues are one and done, but have almost talked myself out of it. You gave me a little energy, lol.

whoa man I’m glad my truck doesn’t do any of that… That’s real problems but you have to wonder if that’s all computer related.

you need to turn off the parking support braking otherwise the vehicle will brake when you’re too close to an object in reverse.

Also if you had a 7-pin connected, PKSB would disable itself. Otherwise it stays on.

Like the truck a lot. Couple of nagging issues with the throttle lag and window noise. In November, had service performed and it was appraised.......drove it 11 months and given 2800 less then I paid. Upgraded to a 23 TRD Pro.
