Well, I'm usually less impulsive and take longer to make decisions, but I put a deposit on it! When I got there he had an upholstery guy there replacing the front seat bottoms and he was replacing the door moulding because the rubber had cracked and it was a partially silver (like all of our trucks). He's getting it buffed on Monday and has a detailer coming to clean the already clean interior. It's immaculate now. Also, the air suspension was swapped out.

I couldn't drive it because it had no front seats so I'll do that before I lock it in, but all signs are positive.

I would think it would unify with the viscosity between the two, for forever. It's not oil and water. I know I've mixed different viscosities of motor oil wit no problems

I've never seen temps below 30 here. Teens is hard to imagine living in, and below zero is just crazy-talk

Standard (open diff) calls for 75w140
LSD calls for SAE 90 OR 80w90 if you have icicles hanging from your testicles

The Motive Gear site says 80w90 overall.

Yeah I checked, no straight answer there either. That's next level chemistry shit. It would take me as long to grasp all that info, as it would for me to swap out my rear diff. "ultra nerd info"

Customer declined brake work then. Now it's sporting all new brake equipment. Off to be traded in for another tundra."

 

Im curious how they make those coils. Not a speck of rust on them. Same with my coils. Whoever Toyota subcontracts to make them, they should take a page from their playbook to make their frames.

 

It's probably the heat turning process of it crunching all the impurities out of the steel.

Yeah, the Lexus ones never came with the rear locker. That looks like a clean one. Does it still have AHC? There are two tests you can look up on mud that you need to do. One is timing the brake booster, the other has to do with the AHC graduations. Brake booster on these are 1200 or so, used to be anyways. I would check the front axles and see if they are originals, they are also spendy. I would say at that price and miles it would take some big findings to pass on it. Great color combo, hard to find them with the grey interior. These things are expensive to run, just a fair warning.

 

Status update. Got wife’s rear brakes done so that’s a wrap on the brake job. Took it to the local shop for a bleed and to dispose of parts. Happy with that.

bought some Nokian Hakkas for just shy of $200 each. Stoked on that.

hunting for rims so I can run summers and winters separately.

midway through garage cleanup / reorg. Kitchen cabinets coming on Monday so hard stop there.

bumpers and roof racks after that. Try to get the big stuff organized. I think that’s the key to the plan. Definitely not going to get much truck modding done. Too much to do and I guess the minivan brakes were #1.

We rarely get down that low, even for overnight. Over the last 10-15 years though, Atlanta has had some freaky ass winters, though. Ice storms, snowstorms, all kinds of bizarre stuff. Combined with droughts and overly-wet stints, it's been wild.

 

Do red and pink coolant mix? Everything organic?

the toyota dealer chat bot pissed me off, and pepbois is too close to the city to go willingly? TB & WP is 15k. Coolant and overflow are really clean. Anyone know the factory thermostat temp, off hand?

My tundra was ready for new cats. mech strongly recco'd Toyota, said he has lots of people coming back when they do aftermarket, never with Toyota. I sold the truck instead. Guy that bought it (through my mechanic) went with aftermarket cats & came back when the light came back on. I wish you good luck with your aftermarkets. Probably come with some warrantee.

 

I have had great luck with my Summit Racing "performance" cats. I've got Long tubes and a full 3" exhaust though.

 

I thought aftermarket cats were fine as long as you got CARB compliant ones.

 

The best gooseneck available for BMX racebikes in the mid 90's was what? and who takes Holidays in Cambodia?
Of the "all three", #1 and #3 are N/A to me. Optimistically, this is where 2WD takes a W, saving money on fluid.

 

From someone who never stops shopping for Toyota trucks and body on frame SUVs of any year, that price seems "too good" based on the market right now, so inspect it VERY carefully...

 

I use that coolant in 3 of my toyotas. Works great for me.

Well I'm not happy about tearing a hole in my basement ceiling but my dad and I made a ton of progress on my dryer vent situation. As it turns out, I had no dryer vent before.




I wonder if @bmf4069 will be triggered by my electrical running across the ceiling like this.




I need to buy a jig saw to make this hole bigger tomorrow.
