Those two tone green are hard to find. Most people didn't believe they existed. I remember seeing them new.

Hot damn you got them way down on that price, Erik!! Crazy for a clean V8/4WD Cali truck.

    And now we have a 3rd Erik with a K, holy cow @FirstGenVol and @alb1k !!

@Erik1989 what are the wheel/tire specs on that thing? Looks like the previous owner installed a lift/level on it. And you got a proper sized topper. Go buy a lotto ticket!

Don't forget to post pics over here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/lets-see-your-first-gen-photo-thread.21/

Yup, that cap is for geezers. PM me and I’ll give you my address. Out if the kindness of my heart, I’ll help a new guy out. I’ll help you remove it and I’ll dispose of it for you. Truck looks great otherwise!!

Damn that is wild. Three Erik's and his looks almost identical to mine. Great price on that one too.

Also, if we're doing years mine would be Erik1988

Now we have a west coast white-AC-with-cap-driving Erik and the original east coast version.

All is fair and balanced with Tundras.com now.

It's not even a 'paw' cap tho. Paw caps are high-rise toppers. Yours and his both are flat, not a high-rise.

    Your cap looks fine, dude.

Ha so that's a geezer cap huh!? I'm about to put this goofy looking thing on and scrap the cap! This new truck is my desert/mountain camping rig. What do you think I should sell that cap for?

@shifty` not sure the specs on the tires/wheels - its raining like hell in California, will check later. It's got some kind of lift on it. thanks for the enthusiasm! super excited about this rig

Now we're talking. I would love to drive to Cali and take that cap off of your hands as the 1GT AC caps are harder and harder to find. What's that new cap weigh? Haven't seen a slide in style camper shell that wasn't a slide in like that.

The guy says it's 500-600 lbs. Unfortunately he's firm on $3500 which is more than half the cost of the truck. It's a Belair Camper. They are super hard to find. Them and Callen Campers are made in Cali but not sure either are in production anymore.

You would be crazy to scrap that topper. They are hard to find and people will sometimes drive long distances to get one for a 1st gen.

Considering what you stole the truck for, you're already waaaaaay ahead of the game on that one.

Cool, thanks for checking. If you take pics of the lift, we can probably tell you more, whether there's anything you should update/keep/scrap etc.

And listen to these guys. If you were closer, I'd take that shell off your hands. I shit you not, I've been hunting on my local Craigslist casually for about 2 years now and I've come up empty. Your cap will only fit another access cab Tundra, and everything near me has been double cab and a couple of reg cab here and there.

If anything, donate it to someone on here that'd use it. Don't just toss it.

Wow I didn't think these AC caps were so rare. I would never toss it! was going to sell it but I think y'all convinced me to keep it in my backyard in case the camper shell is not my vibe. Thanks for all the input

Yup. If you keep it, fab up a jig to hold the lower legs together at the rear door. Once you take it off the truck, even if the rear windoor is closed, they still have a penchant for bowing.

I’d have fun punching a bunch of little holes in it and then scrap it!

I know there are 2008's with the 4.7 on cars.com. Maybe wikipedia was wrong about the 4.7 in 2009.

2010 is when the 4.6 was first widely offered. 2009 was the last year of the 4.7, not sure if there was any bleed over from 2009-2010 where some 2010's would have had the 4.7. The 4.6 is a smaller version of the 5.7, both UR series motors. Kinda like cheby did with the 305 and 350 engines.

Regular height is a pap cap. I call mine a grandpappy cappy. Its ugly as hell but man it's practical. @lsaami has one too.

indeed. Super practical. Mine is the fancy extry winder model. Guy i bought mine from said he got a full-size Honda 300 fourtrax in the bed without removing the topper.

I've had a Polaris Hawkeye 300 in the bed of mine with the topper once. Just had to fold down the handle bars. Thought I had a picture but apparently not.

Loved reading through this thread. Considering a 1st gen as well when I pay mine off (hopes/dreams perhaps). Who doesn't want a project/fun truck?

After my 2012 Tundra Crewmax got wrecked (t-boned by a drunk teen driver), I bought the '05 double cab. It's rock solid, and though I paid more for it during high market, I am very happy with it overall. I think no matter which first gen someone chooses, as long as it was well taken care of, it should last for many trouble free miles.
