I'm pretty sure all limited and above trim model comes with big tank, just like the previous gen. Only SR5 and SR trim comes with smaller 22.5 gal tank. But SR5 can get bigger tank based on package option.

I have a SR5 TRD sport premium with advance tech package that adds the 32.2 gal tank.

Today I drove my truck till DTE says Refuel and about another 10 miles until I got to my preferred gas station. Put in 30.7 gal. The most I ever filled up. Most time I fill up around 27-28 gal, but that's before the light turns on.

    Filled up.

So my dealer (Louisiana) sold me my truck advertising a 22 gallon tank, which I am now curious because the other day I filled up after the dash told me I had 18 miles to E and I filled up 27 gallons. I am averaging about 18 MPG, so I was assuming I had a 28 gallon tank.

Does that count as my reserves, or does that mean I actually bought a 29 gallon tank, and still have 6 more gallons roughly in reserve? Any help is appreciated.

I'm guessing you have the 32 gallon tank. 6 gallon reserve is pretty common on the 32 gallon tank. If you crawl under the truck and see a gas tank that is longer than any tank you've seen in your life, its 32 gallon.

Thanks to all that posted. I have the larger tank in my new to me 22 TRD Crewmax. I also noticed how much “safety factor” the gauge has. I don’t like to run it really low, but sometimes it happens due to construction zones and heavy loads on the interstate. Yesterday I saw the low fuel light for the first time. Filled up with 28.5 gallons.

My 32 gallon tank low fuel light also comes on with ~6 gallon reserve which is where I usually refuel + or - a gallon or so on road trips. But I have never seen that "refuel" message. Guess I haven't really gotten low enough.

On our recent roadtrip from Colorado to Florida, I notice the computer appears to use the most recent fuel mileage to calculate the DTE. But it only uses around 27-28 gallons for that calculation.

I have the 32 gallon tank. Here in Colorado I rarely have to use the AC. My mileage is usually around 19 mpg. After a fill up, the DTE is usually around 520 miles. When we were in Florida, and using the AC a lot, my mileage was around 17 mpg. After a fill up, the DTE was around 475. Those numbers seem to support my theory about how DTE is calculated.

That said, I rarely get below 100 miles DTE. I have no interest in running the tank dry just to see it's full range.
