So my 2022 SR5 Trd Off-road has been having a lot of problems with the cold weather here in Alberta in the last month. I’m wondering if anyone else is having similar issues? About 3 weeks ago the parking brake froze in the on position when it was about -35 to -40 F out when it did this it lit up literally every warning light on the dash. After about an hour of idling in a parking lot it finally disengaged and all the warning lights turned off. I drove it to the dealer they looked it over and couldn’t replicate the issue or find anything wrong. This morning it is about 10F and halfway through my drive to work I got a warning message that there was a power steering malfunction and that steering power was low and to go to the dealer. I didn’t seem like there was any issues with steering and there is no fluid leaking on to the ground under the truck so far.

Wondering if anyone else has had any issues with extreme cold and their 3rd Gen.

I'm also in Alberta. I have heated parking at home but park outdoors at work. Haven't had any issue with the cold snap we had before Christmas (or otherwise).

Good luck getting your issues resolved!

Imo, I wouldn't apply the parking brake in those cold conditions to any vehicle. If I remember correctly, hold the parking brake switch for 3 seconds and it turns off the feature that automatically turns the parking brake on. If the auto folding mirror is active I would turn that off too. I can't speak for the power steering. Maybe try turning off lane tracing and lane centering and see if the same errors come back.

For the rear parking brake, it's most likely the motor's gear grease got too viscous in the weather, I know some mining companies would repack them with lithium grease, this would probably be an isolate problem, you can get an idea of what it looks like here:

For power steering, 3rd gen has electric power steering, so it does not have traditional steering pump, this is again, most likely due to the super cold weather that causes the motor require more voltage, when there's a voltage spike in the system the ecu will throw a code.

My fuel gauge read full and I knew that wasn't the case. Stopped to fill-up and it took 11 gallons. Apparently the fuel tank sensor doesn't like the cold.

Only issue I’ve had was my front Safety Sense sensor icing over and lighting up the dashboard (needed to be cleaned off)

Tonneau covered froze shut too but that’s another story/issue not mechanically or electronically related.

My tailgate has frozen shut twice with the tonneau cover. And when the snow is sticky, all the sensors get upset, but that’s on most cars these days (my in-laws Mercedes is really sensitive to snow).

We've had a wide temperature range the past month. I saw -17°F up to 39°F

The only thing I've noticed is that the plastic trim on my bed rails is either warping or peeling. My Tundra sleeps in an uninsulated garage, but the thermometer in there never showed temps getting lower than about 18°

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I had a problem with the fuel Gauge staying or returning to full status. I have attached a picture from Tundra009 showing you the procedure to reset the fuel tank issue.
    Hope this helps.

I'm up in northern Alberta and I park in an unheated garage. I haven't really had any issues with the cold other than one day when I had a Parking Brake Support Malfunction notice pop up. It went away after truck was parked for awhile and hasn't come up. I was out and about during the nasty cold snap when we hit -50C and everything worked flawlessly.

Honestly the biggest issue I have with my truck is a clicking sound coming from around the a-pillar, which I can't seem to locate and some people think could be cold related. It started happening when the temps were around +10C though and only happens on bumpy roads

Definitely don’t forget the mirrors! I forgot to turn them off during the last ice storm we had and thought I broke the driver side when I unlocked my truck
