Decided to treat my truck to a 1st birthday present. Got the 10k service done at work and jumped on a set of 17” RR7 wheels in matte gun metal. Can’t wait to get those wheels installed… now I just need to figure out what tires to get.

Nice parts so far, Great looking truck!

I just grabbed a set of the RR6 in bronze with beadlocks for my 19 Sport, Excited to get them mounted with the 35s.

thanks @VigTundy ! I can’t wait to get them installed. I wanna run 35’s but I’m pretty sure I’ll need to do a BMC in addition to the 5100’s

It's fairly cheap to do and most local shops should be able to. I've owned and modded a couple Tacomas and always wanted 35s so I figured why not on the Tundra. I believe around $350 to do it. What size tires do you plan on running if not 35's?

ok that’s good to know, originally I was thinking of running 285/70/17, but I figure I may as well just go to 295/70/17’s

A lot going on in the past 2 weeks!
My 5100 bilsteins arrived, placed the order for everything I need from Coach Builders, ordered some 20mm longer wheel studs to make sure my new RRW wheels are properly mounted, also ordered the ET locking lug nuts and lug locks direct from Relations Race Wheels. Also got some useless TRD accessories for some street cred.

Been meaning to update my build thread for a while, been so busy with working two jobs and I got married on July 31st.

anyways. I got a 3 bay switch plate to go in the credit card holder space. Plan is to add the front any time kit, relocate my rear window switch and get a light bar for the front at some point.

Just a couple small updates. Installed my coach builder bumper shims and a set of high flying black stereo surround covers. Picked up a set of N-fab Podium side steps for only 100 bucks on Craig’s list. Couple small scratches but damn near new.
Should be getting my wheels and suspension installed in the next couple weeks. Tomorrow if I’m not being a lazy ass I’ll install my front anytime camera and relocate my rear window switch

Can you post a pic of your wheels? I want to get 17s with 0 offset. Just want to see how much poke.

I'm looking into doing these myself. Can you let me know what wires you tapped into and was it a difficult job? Thank you.

I haven’t installed the wheels yet, but here is the group buy thread for these wheels, where people have posted installed pics.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/rrw-wheels-group-buy-the-rrw-crew.106038/

and here’s someone else’s truck showing the poke, mind you that these are 37’s.

wasn’t too bad, in total it probably took me 2.5 hours. I wired them with some quick disconnects just in case I need to remove the mirror. I tapped into the wires for the foot well light. The puddle lights fade on when I walk up to the truck with my keys in my hands. They also fade out when the the locks are pressed on the key fob.

each light has a red and black wire, the black went to a chassis ground and the reds went to the wire that goes to the interior footwell light, which I’m drawing a blank on the color at the moment.
Here’s another thread about the install process.

Started the ever time consuming sound deadening project. Made the mistake of going a little too high on the back wall of the cab and the deadening material stuck to the glass so I had to do some trimming and clean up.
Got the backside of the cab done as well as the interior wall of the cab. Bolted the plate back on and started to do the front of the plate and my lady wanted to hang out so this is where I stopped for the day. Got about 3.5 hours in so far

I also put Kilmat on the back side of the tail gate plate and two pieces inside the skin, made a huge difference with the tin sound of the tail gate. Even if I let the latch go it has a nice thud to it. One step closer!

Time for install! Tech still has to get the rear coach builder +2 shackles, hence the Carolina squat it currently has.

stock TPMS swapped into the RRW Wheels.

so far the 5100’s are installed at top clip with Coach builder struts spacers. 2 on the driver side and 1 on the passenger side.

Coach builder bump stop extenders, diff drop kit, brake line relocation brackets, and carrier bearing drop are all in.

body mount chop may be required. I’ll find out after alignment is done

Just rolled on to the alignment rack. Here’s the specs. Tech said at full lock it rubs on the cab mount and the front of the fender liner before the alignment. I’ll have to check clearance tomorrow after I pick it up. I can push the fender liner forward and drill new holes, and I’ll probably end up doing the CMC.

Looks great! The gunmetal RR7s with the blue are a sweet combo.

Hey guys it’s been a while!

currently at 23,780 miles. Got an oil change and tire rotation done. Sadly found out that the RRW security locking lug nuts are not compatible with the EBay extended studs.

I had asked the tech, when the new wheels and studs were installed to put the locks on FIRST, then tighten and give the wheel a wiggle because I wasn’t sure if they would bottom out on the stud or the rim. Well he said “there all good”

turns out they were in fact bottoming out on the longer eBay studs BEFORE they would fully seat on the rim. I should have measured and triple checked.

thankfully these rims are hub centric and that really helps keep some of the weight off the individual lugs but now one stud on each side of the front end are toasted and new studs need to be installed. You can see where there’s one stud that has rust around it from where the rim wasn’t fully seated against the rotors and now the treads are damaged. At least it wasn’t worse…

also my passenger side diode dynamics fog light has been flickering. Found a wire had broken so I’ll be repairing that as well.
