    Hello,

In order to protect my beloved Tundra, I would like to fit Skid plates to protect also the LCA.
As weight is the enemy and I am not doing crazy things, I opt for Aluminum ones.

But I can't decide between RCI and Rago
Which ones would you recommend or avoid and why?

Maybe there are other brands offering well designed LCA Skid plates?

    Thanks in advance,
    Lionel

I’ve never understood LCA and rear diff skids.

I got the RCI LCA skids to protect the alignment bolts and tabs after taking a hit there.

i'd say if you put your tundra on rocks a lot, rear diff skid is a must, our tundras rear diff is so huge that it drags on every rock I drive over lol

Thanks for the tips, also considering the rear shock guards are they are way lower and fragile than the rear diff

Very pleased with my Aluminum RCI front skid plate. I cannot recommend them enough. I had one on my FJ as well.
    I cannot speak to Ragu.
    I also don't have any LCA protection.IMG_4940.jpg

Kind of my point though - an inch less ground clearance sounds awful and I’d think could get you hung where you’d otherwise scrape by.

yes I ordered the RCI front, transfer case and fuel tank skid plates as well. Same goes for the RCI rock sliders to replace the running boards

I have the same setup but WKOR sliders instead - love all of them and I’ve put a good beating on them.

It won’t really hang but more of a glide, I’d probably trade damaged skids over damaged rear diff, as I have almost scraped off the entire drain port from my first hit in the rear diff lol

The smaller diff bolts would get shredded without the skid. Would be a bitch replacing those bolts. The skid also protects the rear of the pumpkin from getting smashed in as well - if you were to back into rock or slide off of a rock.

No to the arm skids. Diff skid eh I would rather have the diff clearance. Unless you wheel like @Cruzer.

LCA’s don’t need any protection. They’re just about indestructible. Lol. But if you’re on rocks enough, those skids really do help protect the LCA mounts.

Mine were smashed bad enough I couldn’t get an alignment.

Another one bent enough it was interfering with the LCA movement.

Was barely able to get them straightened out enough to weld on gusseted cam tabs. EDFA36CE-6DE4-4FDC-B924-E94557B5FFD6.jpg

I had some doubts about the rear diff skid plate but from the pictures sent it seems to be quite needed, especially when factoring the time and price required to get some Tundra spare parts in Europe. Same goes for the LCA and rear shock skid plates.

Thanks guys for your help :)
