I have a 2020 Double Cab, looking for a lightweight, removable, but strong bed storage. I have a ladder rack and want something I can put in the bed when it might rain to protect various equipment. I know some of you guys/gals are pretty creative. I have to haul some tall items. A camper shell isn’t really an option. I need something taller than a deck system. If any ideas and pictures would be great. I thought about trying to find a used utility camper shell for a small pickup but no luck so far. I don’t want to spend a lot of money.
    Thanks for the input.

Well I ended up making one from a 275 gallon water tank from a brewery getting vodka in them. Total out of pocket about $65 and my time.

Got to test it last weekend and it worked like a champ. I use it keep gear dry and stuff from blowing out.

I don't understand why a topper with a rack would not have worked.

That is great idea and really cool how you made it work.

I think a topper/shell with a rack on top (Prinsu, etc.) would have worked, but he would have spent about $3,500 more for that type of set up

That's pretty smart I don't have as much to carry as you but I've been using a Rubbermaid Brute 32 gallon trash can (which is cheap compared to any Rubbermaid totes). Works great for sleeping bags and pillows and fits great (small footprint, tall) with all my other stuff in the bed. Comes with a snap on lid if you buy at a store, not necessarily so if you buy online.
