How long can you drive with a hole in the CV axle bolt without doing damage? Waiting for part from dealer, they say 3 to 4 weeks.

Quite awhile, even if it's spewing grease everywhere it'll keep going. If you only drive a couple dozen miles a day I wouldn't worry. If you drive more or are worried then get a grease gun and fill it up every couple days.

If you want to get gnarly you can wrap it in duct tape and bags to try and prolong the life, I've resorted to that in remote places before :D

Thanks…I just didn’t want to cause damage while waiting for the parts and repair.

Are you getting a new CV axle or just a new boot? If you're replacing the whole thing then everything above applies, if you're waiting for just a replacement boot then I would fill it with grease and wrap it up. The worst thing that'll happen if you ignore it is the CV joint will wear out, and if you're replacing the whole axle then who cares, but if you're going to reuse the axle then I would be more diligent keeping it greased.

    Torn boot on a 2020?

Not sure where you're located but biggest thing is to keep debris and salt out of it. Like @snivilous said, bandage it up and keep it clean until you get it replaced/repaired.

Yes, 2020. I think it may have got ripped on a mesquite tree. My dear lease is loaded with them. I’m in Texas and I don’t think this has been an issue until very recently. My dealership it supposed to be just replacing the boot as far as I know.
