The money is bad enough but the time, energy and overall hassle is where it pisses me off. Sorry guys!

 

When my trailer was hit by a dunk driver, my insurance wanted me to cover the deductible. I told them there was no way that was happening. They came back with a cheque for the full amount of the repair.

 

Not sure how that would fly down here in the states, but I agree with the principle. If I did not cause the issue then you can use your army of lawyers to get it out of whoever is responsible.

 

Glad everyone's okay. My son totaled a car when he was 16, and was more worried about the loss of freedom not having his car than anything else. I hope she's not too disappointed waiting on repairs or something new.

Depends on the insurance company, maybe? IDK. I've not been in the situation. My only real claim was a hit and run, so I was on the hook for the deductible.

 

Nah. There's some interaction there, and been a member since '21. Not near as bad as the joined 30 days ago with 50 posts of "Nice", "Looks good", "link?" and another dozen "welcome" posts in the newbie threads because they thought they counted.

 

So, @1794TX how did your pipes fair? I know your trip wasn't the greatest because of illness, but did you come back to any issues?

When Snowmageddon happened (Feb '21), there were a couple of folks in my neighborhood who got broken pipes. All the houses are from the same builder in my neighborhood; so I'm not sure if it's the orientation of the house, where and how the pipes are plumbed through the walls and/or ceiling, or some combination, but we've weathered three significant (for Texas) cold events with no damage.

 

Some fluffing in spurts, but maybe you're right. You're definitely more forgiving than most.

 

I always carry it, but still responsible for the deductible. If there were a known at fault party I would argue about the deductible, as they will get it from the at fault party, but with it being a hit and run... No choice but to pay the deductible.

 

Just the AI flexing it's muscles before moving to destroy humanity. Nothing to worry about.

Did you check the t-stat transformer for power? That feeds the low voltage to the t-stat

 

Yeah, check for 24 volts off the transformer
