I don't mind toggles. I just hold my index and middle finger around the bolt and run it down. After that it's usually enough to get it to engage. I've probably used thousands of em.

They do indeed. I use them at work for hanging heavy stuff on metal studs fairly often.

I may have to try some then. Metal studs are a pain to mount to.

Oh it's still a pain but it's easier than some other ways. Basically the same as drywall it just takes a bunch of finagling to get it to flip if you've drilled into slightly the wrong spot on the stud

I had to stop. I appreciate the desire to express, but just like with roads and traffic, you must have some places where vehicles (words) yield, stop, and end their trip. Without any of that stuff, traffic becomes one big, angry accident, ad it hurts.

Yeah, more like 'dark shifty'. I'm more grammar nazi, it hurts way too much to read an unpunctuated wall of text. I'll put up with it for a paragraph, maybe two, but not the equivalent of 10 paragraphs.

I was installing Closetmaid Maxload shelving, the top horizontal support, which has a slender channel. I don't have chub fingers, it was still difficult. If you take a piece of 20lb+ test Trilene, you can loop it once around the top of the shaft to pull the head towards you while you screw normally. But I had two of the stupid toggles get stiff mid-way, and ended up having to get curved needlenose to leverage the head up while torqueing on the screw. PITFA. I don't like using toggles, and don't normally use on a part like this.

Yup, fellow astigmatism sufferer here, and it's why my one eye measures in at 20/15 avg. It's the one thing ICL couldn't correct, sometimes waveform/custom lasik can.

Age is a huge factor. They won't do it until your vision is stable, which for me wasn't until my later 20s. Many humans need readers by 45-50yo, the natural lens starts to fog (or so the docs at my ophthalmologists ofc say), many people resort to turning up the brightness on devices, using flashlights to read things, or breaking down and getting readers. It didn't start being an affordable procedure until most of my friends were in their 30s & 40s, their window to stay out of glasses was already limited.

I played with a rock tumbler when i was younger, if i built a vibrator (or tumbler) think i could knock the oxidation off aluminum parts fairly quickly? Any quicker than the couple of days it'll take to prep and paint? At the gasket shop we used a vibrator with ceramic cones, but that was for stainless. With the rock tumbler i used sand blasting sand ?silicate?.

or would sand blasting just be the way to go? Skip the bs and do it right?

I’ve got quite a few people telling me the Toyotas with CVT transmissions aren’t very reliable in the sense they’re being replaced after 150-200k miles.

I’m not surprised. Hopefully their trucks won’t follow their cars in that respect.

I love this. Like, really, really love it. Great stance. This is usually what I aim for in all of my on-road rollers all my life, it's exactly what I'd do if I had a 2WD Taco. I'd snatch this up in a heartbeat if the price was right, but would really prefer an xtra cab model, 4cyl, and power locks/windows.

    Nope....

Saved mine earlier. I was installing some wire shelving in the closet, had to Dremel disc a shelf in half. Disc fragmented on 2nd to last cut.

But I HATE when you're wearing glasses trying to do something and those bastards fog up. Pre-surgery, I went to Tulum, MX and everyone got to go out scuba diving but me. Couldn't wear glasses under the mask, and was too f'n blind to be able to see more than 12" in front of my face.

Glasses have their ups and downs, but I can say with confidence after half my life needing them, then half my life not needing them - they're a fuckton better as an accessory or add-on than a necessity.

I made a new years resolution probably about two decades ago to never make another new years resolution. So far, it's going really, really, really well! I've managed to stick with it ever since!

I had to plug my phone into the TV to get the order to go through. Sounds weird, but I needed a "desktop" version apparently for McGeorge to work.

That may sound odd, so let me explain... I've got this USB-C HDMI adapter for my samsung that basiaclly turns the TV into a computer with my phone. Here's a Wallace Wurl link. For some reason, using samsung dex... I can't paste any links, or use my right mouse button on the forum for some fucking reason.
