Does the dual zone climates suck or is it just me?

2019 Limited CM. I have found that if the passenger side temperature is adjusted ~5 degrees colder than the driver side, it drops my side in temperature too. I'm cold natured and my wife is far from it so she burns up in my truck. Is this just how the dual zone climate control is in the Tundra?

It's how it is is every dual zone vehicle I have ever been in. The actual cabin volume is so small it takes no time to "average" the temperature.
I have a new limited crew max. On the first day I set my control on 70 and passenger on 65. In just a few minutes the temp was the same throughout the cab.
What DOES work is one or two degree difference. If both are set at 72 for example, and my wife is a bit warm, she can set it to 70 and get a bit of relief without messing up my temp. Anything over that, the volume is just too small for it to work for long.
If it gets too bad one of us just cracks the window.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if something was wrong with it or not.

Yeah and you're sitting like a foot away from the passenger. you could make some kind of wall between yourself and the wife, soundproof would probably be ideal lol. I'm more disappointed with the rear heat and AC, those little vents are a joke, they could have made them much much better.

Feature kind of sucks. I wish it was a true, independent feature.

Yeah but it's like putting two people in a closet, one with a heater and one with an air conditioner. They will just cancel each other out.

I do like the dual climate control in mine, wife turns hers on high, seat warmer on high I put mine on 63 and can feel some cool air. Makes long trips way better imo

I know, old thread, but I hate how the auto heat setting temp is reached and the it starts blowing cold air at 2-3 on fan setting. What's with that? If it's going to recirculate can't it just blow air out the lower vents at lowest speed, not at you. to re-chill you? I have to shut it off so my passengers don't complain and I don't need cold air blowing on me.

I miss the old three-knob style of climate controls personally. Didn't have to look down to see what you were doing. The trend toward an array of buttons and modes that you can only identify via an LCD screen is counterproductive.

I miss the old slide lever. You could really fine tune the temps. [IMG]
