Smart truck gone dumb?

Had my truck for 10 months. No problems whatsoever detecting the key and applying settings, seat adjustment, steering wheel, etc. Suddenly the truck seems to not recognize the key and apply the settings intermittently. The remote starting with the app also seems to be hit or miss from time to time.

Anyone having these or similar issues?

I believe there have been others with your problem. I will say that I had the Toyota app, if that’s the one you’re referring to, and it sucked. Even the Lexus app on for my wife suv was buggy.

 

Don't need the app for remote start. Press lock once, hear it beep, press lock again, hear it beep again, press and hold lock. In about 5 seconds the truck will start

 

The app works when the fob is out of range

 

and the range on the remote sucks!

 

Is your key fob next to anything magnetic in your pocket? I've found that my wallet has a magnetic strip and when the key fob is next to it intermittent issues happen. Key not detected, personal preferences not loading on screen, etc.

 

Negative on that.
