Ours was a reserved allocation for us, had 7.3 miles when we went to got it in dealers lot.

But there is a twist: We've had it for almost 2 weeks now and yesterday I decided to clean the inside of the windshield since it seems the dealer didn't go a great job of cleaning it. So I sprayed on a light mist of home made glass cleaner (dish detergent/vinegar/water mix) and to my surprise the moisture revealed a round circle just to the left of center on the inside of the windshield. It looked just like the mark left from a cell phone holder suction cup. It did clean right off which is good, but I didn't think to take a picture of it.

But what I'm really curious about is why was that mark there at all? And why were there 7 miles on a vehicle that came directly to the dealer and then held just one day for me? I can understand that it had to be driven from the assembly building in Texas to a lot, then to a train, then from train to the "port facility" in Portland, then to a truck for loading...etc. But 7 miles total? And what's with that suction cup on the windshield thing?

    Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Dealer didn't clean inside of my windshield at all. Those are from the suction cups they use at the factory to install the windshield.

That is good to know that the suction cup mark is probably not from somebody test driving my truck before I go it. Thanks BoatsNTRDs, you made my day :)

Mine had 5 miles on it and I had those same suction cup marks on my windshield and I've tried a few times but under certain conditions I still see them and I'm at 9500 miles. Honestly I haven't put forth a tremendous amount of effort to remove them, perhaps today I will...

Up to 10 miles is pretty normal on new vehicles. They do some minor testing to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong, they move it around the lot and into their bays for any fluids or detailing/cleaning, and the truck is shipped without fuel, so they have to go to a gas station and back.

I'm glad the suction marks is normal. I guess it's my long standing paranoia of car dealers that got me thinking something was awry. Thanks guys.
ps: In the past I've bought new cars off the dealers lot with maybe 15 or 20 miles on it. That was in the good old days, remember those when one could actually point to a new car on the lot and buy it that same day?

I had 4 miles on mine. Before I introduced myself personally to the sales rep handling my truck, I overheard her talking to another employee about not letting anyone even test sit as they were expecting me anytime.

That's good to hear YF19EX. I would hope that all dealers are like that :)

Amazing, I thought I was the only one with the suction cup circle, now everyone has it. And it's there for life in one way or another :(

8 miles. The salesman drove it to the Boise Airport to pick me up so my first ride was as a passenger.

Mine had 14 miles and I assumed they drove to get gas and not sure what else. I didn't preorder, but caught it as soon as it arrived. I never asked why there were 14 miles on it, but I probably should have. I don't know if they would have told me if someone had test driven it. I guess I will never know. I also had suction cup marks on my windshield.

Suction cups marks are from the machines used to install the glass panels during assembly. My Tacoma had them on the moonroof and I was never fully able to get rid of them in 5 years of ownership, granted I didn’t try that hard.

2 miles. Had suction cup marks on moonroof. The tint guys cleaned the glass before adding ceramic and the marks went away
