New member here. I recently purchased an 07 double cab sr5. The previous owner did an oem fog light install but it only worked with the lights off. The moment you turn on the running lights or low beams the fogs shut off. I did the eddies v1 mod and now i have nothing.
Looking for input on whats going wrong i assume it is the t-tap in the wiring. Fogs go to factory harness, factory relay, it does not have the fog multifunction switch. I can get pics later today for the wiring done. I believe he connected to a blue or light blue wire under the column, grounded switch to the dash, and unsure of other wire. Any advice would be appreciated.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
So how do you Want it to work? Can't fully work as OEM since there is no stalk, yet.

I would wire it direct to battery (fuse 1" after batt) and install my own dash switch with a relay so I don't forget it one with engine off. Luck.

as close to factory as possible so thats what i was considering was full aftermarket switch i just cant stand the mess of wires under the hood. If need be i will buy the stalk. But im not sure if the stalk will fix my issue.

Post pictures of what you have currently. Cant really do much to help unless I can see your specific situation.

Unfortunately when it comes to add ons, electrical is normally the place most people take short cuts.

Looks like yellow may be the control to close the that connects to a green wire on a random connector that is not plugged in to anything. While the blue wire i believe is the power source wire that connects to a light blue wire which is coming from the bcm.

What a mess, definitely not a factory install. I think I see what they were trying to do and its no right.

You did say your truck has the fog light fuse and relay correct?

Where is the other blue wire going to? I can only see two of the four wires actually wired into something. Also could you show a little better shot of the connector with the yellow to green wire. I think I know what this green wire is but seeing a better view would let me know for sure.

First thing you need to do is determine which wires are which on your switch. This diagram has different colors that yours but I believe the switch is wired the same internally. The Grey and Yellow (Left) 12- 12+ should be for the illumination circuit in the switch. To make it light up with the headlights on. The Green and Red (Right) are the actual "switch". Pushing the button in should connect these two wires together.

So i got it from a retired officer so he wired it so that if the truck was on they were running lights only. So key on power light switch off you could turn the fogs on and off. The moment you turn on the lights in any way they shut off. Im thinking the other blue wire is tapped into one or cut short and taped but i will let you know later on that. Black wire is the chassis ground. The only one wire not being possibly used is one of the blues.

From reading the wiring diagrams it looks like the blue wire from your switch tapped into the light blue on the body control module is the trigger wire.

Grounding this wire should close the relay and make the lights come on. I would turn the truck on, headlights on, then ground this wire to verify the fog lights come on. Unhook the switch first so the existing setup doesn’t mess something up.

If they do then all you need is for your switch to connect this wire to a good ground when the button is pressed.

This is how the Eddie’s mod works, it bypasses the decisions made by the BCM (the stock switch input goes into the BCM and this blue wire is the output). The BCM grounds this output wire and turns the fogs on whenever the switch is on. It will only work if headlights are on as the other side of the relay is powered by the tail fuse and tail relay.
