My 22’ 4WD platinum did great in 18” of fresh powder, but got stuck in 36-40” of powder and I had to get pulled out by an excavator.

This picture was from parking the truck overnight when 16.6” of snow fell.

This was not “off roading”, this was how much snow was on our street before it was plowed. It was blizzard conditions so blowing snow accumulated to 5-6’ in some spots of the road.

That indeed is crazy. I cannot for the life of me imagine what it would be like to see that in person. Living in Hawaii keeps me insulated from blizzards. But it’s hella expensive lol. Think I could deal with a blizzard or two and able to buy eggs and milk for a decent price. Haha

Hats off to you and all others who go through this kind of weather!

+1 Would love to hear more about your tire setup!

My ATX grabbers have been doing great with a couple inches at a time but haven’t had the deep stuff yet lol

p.s. do I dare ask how the excavator pulled you out without tow hooks? :notsure:

I wouldn’t be out in that kind of weather. Authorities have been finding dead people from this winter storm from exposure.

Yes, 18" on stock tires. I would imagine this is very dependent on the type of snow, in this case it was very light and fluffy. I am getting new tires shortly, but they will not be off road tires. I need something with a higher load rating for the 10k lb towing I frequently tow. I am going to get something E rated designed for mainly highway use.

I looped a recovery strap around the trailer hitch, put it in reverse and he pulled me onto a spot that had just been plowed.

I would expect to get stuck in 3' plus of snow.

With my Bridgestones, I get stuck in a minimal snow. Wish I had stock Michelins. But the 20 inch were Bridgestone defenders.
