As asked I searched and didnt find what Im hoping to find. That being quirks thru the 2nd and 2.5 gens. Like one of the guys said, go to a hospital and you'll find sick folks, come to a vehicle forum and you'll find the problems of certain years. After owning 3 Diesel Rams and the problems we ran into on the 3 and $$$$ to keep them on the road, I just wanna educate myself before we go bankrupt. :0. Google search's contradict themselves pretty badly as far as what years are/might be problematic. Air pump issues, trans issues bla, bla, bla. Yes, machines break, understood, but been our experience's Toyotas rarely do. If anyone can point me in the right direction to find some info that would be great.
    Thank you ;)

Bed rust. Especially if there is a drop in bedliner.

In my opinion, for every problem referenced here (or a google search), there are hundreds of Tundra owners with the same make, model and years that have NO similar problem. My 2007 CM, SR5, 5.7L, 4X4 - 74K = ZERO issues save for a couple of sets of tires and batteries. Routine maintenance. Used almost exclusively for towing a 28' RV and horse trailer. As with any pre-owned purchase, there are risks, but, Toyotas that have been maintained, represent good value, reliability, and less risk than some other makes (I also own a Tacoma and Highlander - both bullet proof) If an issue does pop up and you did your diligence; service records, inspections, and comprehensive test drive, just fix it and move on.
Ps - I have a drop-in bed liner and have NO rust.

I believe some of the second gen years have problems with the secondary air injection pump, but you can bypass that before a failure occurs and it’s not an issue. Search for AIP in this subforum and you should find a few posts with more info.

Seems that should have been phrased: don't put corn oil in your truck.
