Hi Everyone. Hardly ever post here --- mostly read. As of late, my remote start (aftermarket) isn't working. When hitting the remote start, the lights blink but no start. Just curious if anyone can walk me through how to get the remote start back up and running?

    Thank you,
    Tim

It would help if you specified what brand/ model remote start you're using.

DO you have any check engine lights on? - usually wont start if there is a CE light on

does it crank and just not start? - check the battery

what brand of remote start do you have?

No CEL at all. Truck starts fine with key. Not sure what remote start this truck has but was once working. When I hit the "remote start" button I get parking/lights blink around 9-10 times --- maybe in valet mode? If so, how do I get it out of valet mode?

Figured it out. I have an avital remote and found that sometimes , due to the battery possibly being low or getting disconnected, the system loses programming. Had to figure out where the black reset button was under the dash (super fun with 12* weather outside) but found it. Turned key on and off, then, hit the black button once. Then tried the remote start and presto, FIXED.

Hope this might help someone else out!

    Cheers,
    Tim
