situation: engaged 4wd while slowly moving (4WDHi), then a loud clunking sound started. Same when tried two different times. The temperature has been just above 0F for a day and 40s before that. 2wd is fine.

Q: is this some temp related issue? if so, what should the warm up procedure be?
or... is this a warranty issue?

    Thanks

I had something similar last night. Engaged 4x4 and drove about 10 miles with no issue. Shut off the truck for about half an hour (left it in 4hi) and then when I started truck and gave it some gas it felt like it was frozen to the ground (40 below wind chill so weird but not crazy). After I start moving there was a loud clunking that lasted about 25 yards. Fine after that and today as well.
