If I recall correctly from my stint in the car biz, you only had to report 25% or higher damage. Of course, that was around 30 years ago. I remember taking a black GT with T-tops into the wash bay and rinsing it completely to see if there were scratches on the roof from cutting and installing the T-tops.

Yup. All I asked was to have it fixed and for them to mount my Mud Guards, which were in the parts department, for the trouble of an extra 60 mile round trip, which they did. All is good.

It takes special talent from all involved to achieve this lofty status.

Yup......had an iffy driver door lock actuator replaced early and a freaking park pawl under warranty. Not a big deal. It is what it is. Life is short. This is minor stuff............:woot:

I had an instance with a Toyota 4Runner.

Upon pickup there were some splatter marks of something that the truck went through. (front flares and lower parts of the doors)

Ok so I made a comment on it about being dirty. Salesman said, it should wash off, if a problem we can detail it out.
So I accepted delivery. Two days later I wanted to wash it off. Didnt come off. Used a clay bar, didnt come off.
Brought the car back to the dealership and they said they can do it. Detailer said its in the paint and isnt coming off.
Back and forth with the dealership... Toyota wanted to paint the truck. I said NO WAY! I want another truck.
Got so fed up with it one night I emailed every email address I could find at the dealer. All the way up the chain of command.
Next day I get a phone call from the GM. We have the same truck at the sister dealership. I can get it right now, when do you want to pick it up. After I did that they couldnt help me enough. Gave me remote start for free etc.
I was impressed and even got another family member to buy another vehicle (rav4) for a great price.

Everyone made out ok. Sadly that same dealership cant sell me a Tundra for at or under MSRP. They will do 2k over. BLAH!
(General M. moved to a different dealership, dont know too many of the same folks I dealt with last time)
