Big changes fore and aft (i.e. engine removal) would be problematic.

We dont have any kids, but my requirement for buying my niece/newphews presents is:
    1) Makes an absolute insane amount of annoying noises (was a lot easier when they were really young)
    2) Takes a very long time for the parents to put it together

I've had some real fun in the past terrorizing my brothers and sisters with buying...bullhorns, drum sets, talking toys that go off in the middle of the night by themselves....anything that is very large that comes in a very small box :)

I like your style, sounds like my mom and MIL!
We try to ask them for non material things, like sunflower seeds and good karma……jk but seriously we ask for memberships to the zoo or hours at the jump house things that are all the rage right now. I hate waste and garbage toys that get played with once.

Our toddler is still happy with anything Frozen or Peppa Pig or anything she can play dress up in. She's still a few years away from Lego, unfortunately.

That's what I am talking about! I had metal detectors and police scanners since I was probably 10! I am 40 now...still love them. Metal detector technology has come a long way. Plenty of entry level ones she will love.
