Hi yall, former 04' Dodge 5.9 cummins owner. Seems the truck constantly had electrical issues. Well I got hit head on and totalled the truck. Couple friends convinced me to look into Toyota Tundras.
So I bought a 13' tundra crewmax sr5. It's my second white truck ( hence white knight two) .
Thinking about doing a couple of small things to it. Leveling kit, little bigger tires. Like maybe 285 vs. 265 nothing too serious as it is an everyday work truck. Maybe a cold air intake . Idk I have a habit of not just letting things be. Any tips or suggestions to keep it running top notch would be welcome. Thanks for listening

Skip the cold air intake as Gen2s have them stock. 275/70r18 is a good tire size upgrade that takes no modifications with stock rims.

    Welcome!

You will have no shortage of help "not letting things be" round these parts.

I'm running about 2" of level up front (eibach coilovers), and 275/75/18 KO2s

Looks stock to 99% (dont like standing out too much).
Does quite well in mixed off-road conditions.
Very nice highway manners (chosen road trip vehicle).
Haven't taken much of a hit on fuel efficiency (~18mpg hwy if you keep your foot out of it)

Nothing else big planned. Maybe some sliders.

All of this! I'm gonna be hauling the camper all summer and definitely getting the ko2s. Just been having trouble trying to figure out which direction to go for leveling.

You asked for tips to keep it running top notch. I'd suggest 5w-30 motor oil every 6k, and drain and fill tranny every 30k or so. Good lubrication is key to longevity.

I would stay away from spacers despite how attractive the price is. They don't tend to be the most comfortable or reliable systems, which can be important when traveling to remote campsites.

I was very close to Bilstein 5100's which are a replacement shock with 3 different positions for the spring perch. Buddy of mine has had this setup with factory springs, and loves it.

I decided to go with the Eibach Pro Stage 2. Has fully adjustable spring perches, really beefy, machined lower shock mounts, and are available fully built with eibach springs and new machined top mounts. Also got their rear shocks, but have left everything at factory (TRD off road) height.

So long as you don't lift much beyond 2", you can avoid all of the differential and driveline drops/spacers and undue stress on CV joints from extreme angles.

Depending on your travel trailer, you may want to look into air bags to assist with your tongue weight.

My check engine light just came on I had it scanned at Auto Zone. It came back with an oil pressure sensor. Or something like that. ( I was supposed to receive an email. And haven't). I checked the oil level it's to the top of the safe level. Still looks new. Wondering if the 5w- 30 might be better than the 0-w20 ?

The pressure sensor is located just up above the oil filter canister. Pretty easy to replace it. Changing to heavier oil will reduce your gas mileage but will likely increase the lifespan of the engine provided you keep it clean by changing it regularly. Good luck!
