How to reset the infotainment when it's frozen?

Yesterday, my AA took over the infotainment. This was on Bluetooth not hard plugged in. Frozen on the main homepage with no left icons.



I couldn't get waze to stop talking to me, I couldn't control Android auto on my phone since it thought it linked correctly.

I thought simple I'll just turn off Bluetooth and it should break the connection. Turn off Bluetooth on my phone and 2-3 secs later it turns itself back on already linked to the Toyota again.

No physical home button, long pressing the power didn't do anything either. Basically stuck listening to waze instructions going to some place I didn't want to go until we got to our destination and turned truck off.

You would think turning off Bluetooth should disable AA, but some weird glitch gave me 0 ability to turn off the infotainment and couldn't turn if off my phone either (since it shifted all controls to AA), I did not try resetting my phone since I was driving and was just puzzled bluetooth had its own mind and can turn itself on

 

Push and hold in the volume button for around 10 seconds. That worked for me.

 

Thanks, I think I only held it down for like 5+ secs, next time I'll try 10+.

Any idea how Toyota Bluetooth can magically turn on my phone's Bluetooth even though I turned it off lol

 

I had 2 turn off the android auto app on my phone for the truck not to automatically turn on the bluetooth on my phone.
