I found surprisingly little on this subject while searching, including whether it is even possible to do.

I want to add memory side mirror function to my 2021 SR5. Are the trucks all prewired for this capability since I imagine most trims have the function? Has anyone done it? This is pretty much the only feature I want from a higher trim truck.

I’m almost certain the truck is not pre wired to do this but I know it’s possible. Just up to you how much work ya want to put into it.

Im willing to do the work. I absolutely hate having to reposition my mirrors because the wife drove a mile to the grocery store.

I’ve only taken a cursory look at it. It wouldn’t be a small undertaking.

From what I’ve been able to find, there is only one MAIN instrument panel wiring harness in these trucks, so THAT likely has the wires needed. But everything outside of that will not.

Further, there is more to the system than just the mirror memory - the seat positioning and the steering wheel position are all part of the “memory” system and my experience is that these systems do not respond well to missing components.

There are several dedicated ECUs that are part of that system, different seats, the powered steering wheel, power folding mirrors, etc. and the wiring in the door for even the mirrors is different at the actual mirror because of that.

You would need to start by digging through the wiring diagrams specific to the memory mirror function, chase down every connector and element in that system, then cross check it against every other wiring diagram in the memory system, and compare them to the ones for non-memory vehicles to start building a list of what is added/different.

Well my truck has a manual seat as well as manual steering wheel adjustment as well as manual folding side mirrors. Not sure if that makes it any easier.

Definitely not at that point yet lol. I dont care for any of the other "tech" features.
