    Afternoon all,

Looking through old threads and it seems to upgrade to LED, you will need an H4 resistor to use high + fog lights.

Is this the same scenario for HID? Previous owners installed HID and if I use my high beams, it'll kick the lows off.

Fogs does NOT work. Wiring is all cut and sliced into wires that I don't even know have enough voltage.. electrical tape everywhere. Turns out the harness for fogs are also HID.

If I understand correctly, the issue with LED is that the resistance created on the line from LEDs is far lower than halogen bulbs. I'm going to assume that's true with HID also. Some people on here have swapped out for LED projectors, but not sure on HID. Symptoms sound the same, I wouldn't doubt if it's the same issue. The resistor isn't that much $$ if you wanted to test.

It does not bother me at all since I never use highs unless I really need to, but still curious to see what is going on. Labels on the bulbs/box is pretty much gone. Is there a way to tell what kind of HID is it for me to purchase the correct resistor?

Had to add the resistors to mine, Fog lights wouldn’t come on and no high beam indicator.

Most of the cheap hid kits use the same generic ballast, No idea why they cut the harness.

This stuff makes my blood boil when I see it, knowing there's an adapter and/or direct plug-and-play solution out there, usually for a couple bucks more.

Reversible changes are king, unless you're going full-on custom, over the top.
